I've "rescued" an old photograph of Joe WOOD which was taken at the Yager
Studio in Decatur, Indiana. The photograph appears to have been taken in
the 1880's with Joe likely in his teens at the time. Based on limited
research I was able to locate a possible match in census information as
follows:
1870 census of Blue Creek Township, IN:
Sylvanus WOOD, age 46, a Farmer, born OH
Eva A. WOOD, age 34, Keeping House, born OH
Martha WOOD, age 14, born IN
Emily WOOD, age 12, born OH
Adolphus M. WOOD, age 6, born IN
Joseph WOOD, age 5, born IN
George WOOD, age 1, born IN
Charles WOOD, age 1 month, born IN
1880 census of Blue Creek, IN:
Sylvanus WOOD, age 54, a Farmer, born OH, parents born NY
Eva A. WOOD, wife, age 45, Keeping House, born OH, parents born ?/PA
Adolphus WOOD, son, age 16, Works on Farm, born IN
Joseph M. WOOD, son, age 15, Works on Farm, born IN
George R. WOOD, son, age 11, at School, born IN
Charles M. WOOD, son, age 10, at School, born IN
Harvey F. WOOD, son, age 5, born IN
I am hoping to locate someone from Joe's family so that this wonderful old
treasure can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family,
or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
