Glenn D. McDonald, 83, of Decatur, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the extended care unit
of Adams County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on March 31, 1920, in Jay County, to Elias H. and Augusta Irvin McDonald.
His first two wives are deceased: Margaret McDonald and the former Phyllis Pettibone.
He married Wanda Foor on April 9, 1980; she survives.
He retired from the former General Electric Co. plant in Decatur after 37 years as a
mechanic and was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Decatur. He was a
member of the Quarter-Century Club at GE.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Other survivors are two sons, Phillip E. McDonald of Bolingbrook, Illinois, and
Michael E. McDonald of Westfield; two daughters, Ann Meyers of Fort Myers, Florida, and
Mrs. Robert (Alice K.) Stetler of Van Wert, Ohio; four stepsons, Gary, Dan and Michael
Pettibone and Roger Foor, all of Decatur; two stepdaughters, Donna Lehman of Berne and
Angela Wiegman of Aurora, Colorado; a brother, Elias H. "Junior" McDonald Jr. of
Versailles, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and
six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Seven brothers are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home,
Decatur, with burial in Fairview Cemetery at Bluffton.
Visiting hours are 1-4 and 6-9 Friday and 1:30-2:39 on Saturday.
Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association.
