Rosella P. Sovine, 80, a former New Haven resident, died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday in The
Village of Heritage, a nursing home at Monroeville.
She was born on March 25, 1924, in Willshire, Ohio, to Floyd L. and Nellie F. Stetler
Strickler.
She married Carroll W. Sovine on April 21, 1945; he died on January 14, 1999.
She was a homemaker and a member of New Haven United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John (Kathy J.) Furniss, Brenda S. Youmans, and
Mrs. James (Juanita L.) Clerk, all of Fort Wayne; five sons, C. Wayne Sovine Jr. and Kevin
L., Jeffrey A., and Gary D. Sovine, all of New Haven, and David L. Sovine of Decatur;
three sisters, Mrs Deane (Hazel) McMillen and Irene Hoverman, both of Willshire, Ohio, and
Adeline Lough of Decatur; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four
stepgreat-grandchildren.
Three brothers, a sister, and two grandchildren are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home,
Decatur, with burial in Willshire Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 1-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association and to the van fund at The
Village of Heritage.
