Deceased Name: Nonna C. Geels
Nonna C. Geels, 80, of Decatur, passed away at 11:51 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at
Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 27, 1929, in Allen County to Henry and Mary (Girardot) Kline.
She married Francis J. Geels on April 30, 1947; he survives in Decatur.
She is also survived by nine sons, Ralph (Vicky) Geels, Kenny (Lynn) Geels, Francis Jr.
(Tina) Geels, and Larry (Terri) Geels, all of Decatur; Leo Geels of Ceylon; David (Lori)
Geels, Edward Geels, and Jerry (Kristy) Geels, all of Decatur; and Ronnie Geels of Fort
Wayne; eight daughters, Jean (Pete) Swenski and Marilyn Agler of Decatur; Ellen (Steve)
Musser of Berne; Linda Geels, Alice (Chris) Kernstein, Joyce (Bill) Seip, and Anita (Tim)
Hirschy, all of Decatur; and Janice (Peter) Van den Boom of The Netherlands; two brothers,
Orville Kline and Maurice Kline of Fort Wayne; three sisters Aileen Sarrazine, Mildred
Beckman, and Alma Gevers, all of Fort Wayne; 39 grandchildren; and numerous
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, and a sister.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and worked as a
lifelong homemaker.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home,
Decatur, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 1:30 p.m.
A 9:20 a.m. prayer service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Haggard and Sefton
Funeral Home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St.
Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father David Voors.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur.
Memorials may be made to masses or to the St.
Vincent DePaul Society.
