CHESTER C BARKER
Chester C. Barker, 64, route 3, Decatur, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday a the Caylor Nickel
Clinic in Bluffton following an extended illness.
Mr. Barker was a former farmer and was a well-known horseman in this area. A native of
Dixon, Ohio, ( Tully Township, Van Wert Co.) he was born on September 9, 1914, and was the
son of Fird and Ida Clayton-Barker.
He was married on March 25, 1938, to Vonnie Railing, who survives. Other survivors
include two children, Steve C. Barker, owner and operator of Barker's Wrecker Service
in Decatur, and Mrs. John (Joan) King, route 3, Rockford, Ohio; four brothers; Forest
Barker of Monroeville, Charles Barker of Mendon, Ohio , Floyd Barker of Convoy, Ohio and
Russell Barker of Fort Wayne; and 11 grandchildren.
One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Mr. Barker will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Winteregg-Linn and
Haggard Funeral Home, with the Rev. Edwin Ford officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. tonight.
