Mrs. L. A. Graham Dies This Morning
Funeral Services Thursday Afternoon
Mrs. Leona Graham, 79, well known Decatur lady, and widow of Lewis A. Graham, died this
morning at the home of a stepdaughter, Mrs. Gladys Cleaver at Phillipsburg [Warren Co], N.
J. She had been in ill health for the past three months.
Mrs. Graham resided at 116 North Fourth street, but had gone to the Cleaver home for the
winter months.
She was born in Randolph county Feb. 26, 1871, a daughter of L. C. and Mary Ellen DeVoss,
and had lived in Decatur for the past 60 years. She was married June 10, 1907, to Lewis A.
Graham, who died Aug. 13, 1949.
Mrs. Graham was a member of the First Presbyterian church, the Eastern Star, of which she
was a past worthy matron, the Pythian Sisters and was a charter member of the Research
club.
Surviving are three stepchildren, Mrs. Cleaver, Mrs. Gretchen Clifford of Cleveland, O.,
and Harold R. Graham of Jackson, Mich., and one sister, Mrs. Doris Harris of Indianapolis.
Two brothers, Huber M. and L. ?. DeVoss, and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Hendricks, are
deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Zwick funeral home, the Rev. A. C.
E. Gillander officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the
funeral home after 2 o'clock
