Harry C. Andrews, 82, retired farmer of Decatur route 4, five miles southwest of
Decatur, died at 2:30 a.m. today at the Adams county memorial hospital. He had been ill
for several months.
Born in Adams county Feb. 24, 1885, he was a son of Dr. O. P. Morton Andrews and
Maggie Reynolds-Andrews, and made his home with Marion Andrews after the deaths of his
parents. He was married to Mary E. Wisely April 6, 1917.
Mr. Andrews graduated from the Decatur high school in 1904 and Indiana University in
1907, graduating with honors, majoring in Greek.
He attended the Methodist church.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, John Francis Andrews of Columbia City; Richard W.
Andrews of Decatur route 4; Thomas F. Andrews of Rota, Spain; and Spenser Andrews of
Decatur; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Catherine) Dalton of Cleveland Heights, O.; two
sisters, Mrs. Walter (Cecile) Krick of Decatur, and Mrs. Roger (Celina) Swaim of Bluffton;
and nine grandchildren. One sister is deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Zwick funeral home,
with Rev. Melvin Seeger officiating. Burial will be in the Ray cemetery near Monroe.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today until time of the services.
