Calvin H. Hamrick, 93, route 6, Decatur (Blue Creek Township) died at 6:15 a.m. today
at the Adams County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for 10 days.
Born February 25, 1887, in Blue Creek Township to Wesley and Amanda Garwood Hamrick, he
was married in 1912 to Fausta Skidmore, who passed away in 1937; he later married Florena
Osterman, who died on December 24, 1958.
On September 20, 1957, Mr. Hamrick married Lewella Gessell Ortt-Hamrick, who survives.
A retired farmer, he was a member of the Willshire (Ohio) United Brethren Church.
Survivors, in addition to the widow include four daughters; Mrs. Howard (Geneva)
Tallentine of
Mansfield, Ohio, Mrs. Lois Brandenburg of Fort Wayne, Mrs. M. LK., (Charlene) Dailey of
route 1, Willshire, and Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Suddeth of Decatur; two brothers, Jess and Sam
Hamrick of Willshire and route 1, Willshire, respectively; a stepson, George Ortt, New
Corydon; 16 grandchildren, 41 greatgrandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
A daughter, Nellie Book, seven brothers, two sisters and one grandson preceded him in
death.
Funeral services wil be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Zwick Funeral Home, Rev Lawrence
Dellinger and Rev. Menzel Smith in charge, and burial will be in the Willshire Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday, and preferred memorials are to the Willshire
United Brethren in Christ church.
