Willis Landis Dies Suddenly Saturday
Willis H. Landis, 75, a retired printer, died suddenly of a heart attack at 4:45 p.m.
Saturday at his home in Kirkland township, three miles south and on and one-half miles
west of Preble.
He was born in Darke county, O., Aug. 7, 1886, a son of John and Susan Baker - Landis.
He was first married to Jennie Bright, who preceded him in death May 26, 1961. He was
then married Sept. 13, 1961, to Blanche Yaney-Henschen, who survives.
Mr. Landis was a member of the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Eugene and Marvin Landis of Trotwood,
O., and Raymond Landis of New Lebanon, O.; four grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; two
brothers, Earl Landis of Kirkland township and Jesse Landis of Bluffton, and four sisters,
Mrs. Damon Cornelius, of Richmond, Mrs. Clara Banks of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Alice Irwin of
Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Rose Wise of Piqua, O.
Friends may call at the Zwick funeral home this evening. The body will lie in state
from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until services at 10:30 at the Pleasant Dale Church of the
Brethren. The Rev. John E. Mishler will officiate. The body will then be taken to the
Russel Ulmer and Son funeral home at Dayton, O., where services will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday. Burial will be in the Trissel cemetery at New Lebanon, O.
