Not related, just trying to help. First of all, Sarah Winings was not Daniel W Rollins
wife, she was his mother. She married Hannaniah Rollins in Ohio county on 6 Oct 1850. In
the 1860 census the family was in Ohio county, Randolph township, page 68, P.O. of Rising
Sun, the family was headed by Hanniah Rollins, 32, blacksmith, and included Sarah, 29, -
Cerilda, 7, - B.L., 5, - J.B., 4, all born in Ind. In 1870 the family was in the same
place, page 21, and was headed by Hananiah Rollins, 42, blacksmith, and included Sally
(Sarah), 38, keeps house, - Cerilda, 18, - Benjamin, 16, - John, 13, and Daniel, 8, all
born in Ind. In 1880 the family was in the same place, Dist 147, page 15, and was headed
by Hananiah Rollins, 51, blacksmith, born in Ind, father in Pa and mother in NJ, and
included his wife Sarah, 50, keeps house, born in Ind, father in Pa and mother in In, and
the following childre all born in Ind, Serilda, 26, - Benjamin, 24, blacksmith, - Daniel,
19, and Everet!
te, 9. Unfortunately the 1890 census was destroyed by fire and is unavailable for
research and also later marriage records for Ohio county are not on-line. Sometime about
1895/1896 Daniel Rollins married someone naamed Elizabeth. In 1900 the family was still
in the same place, Dist 113, pg 13, and was headed by Daniel Rollins, 39, born June 1860,
married 4 years, a day laborer, born in Ind as were both parents, and included his wife
Elizabeth, 35, Jan 1865, married 4 years, mother of 2 with both sill living, born in Ky,
father in Germany and mother in Ky, - his son Howard, 3, Feb 1897, Ind and his son John D,
1, Jan 1899. In 1910 the family was still in the same place, Dist 133, page 3, and was
headed by Daniel W Rollins, 48, married 1 time for 14 years, a farmer born in Ind as were
both parents, and included his wife Elizabeth, 40 married 1 time for 14 years, mother of 6
with none still living (obvious mistake because all of her children are listed), born in
Ky, father!
in Germany and mother in Ky, - his son Howard, 13, farm laborer on ho
me farm, - his son John, 11, farm laborer on home farm, - his daughter Hazel, 9, - his son
Roy, 7, - his son Edward, 5, and his son Hubert, 3. For some reason all children are
listed as born in Ky. In 1920 the family was in neighboring Dearborn county, Aurora Ward
3, page 2, residing at 322 Moore St, and was headed by Daniel Rollins,59, a machinist in a
machine shop, born in Ind, both parents were listed as born in Ky but that is lined out
with nothing in its place, and included his wife Elizabeth, 53, born in Ky, father in
Germany and mother in Ky, - his son Howard, 22, a laborer in a lamp factory, - his son
John, 20, a machinist in a machine shop, - his daughter, 19, a caner in a chair factory, -
his son Roy, 17, an auto repairer in a garage, - his son Edward, 15 (listed a a daughter
but sex as male), a laborer in a machie shop, - his son Hubert, 14, - his daughter Katie,
9, and his daughter Virginia, 6, All children born in Ind. In 1930 the family was in
Aurora, Dist 4!
, page 8, still on Moore St., and was headed by Daniel W Rollins, 68, first married at
35, a laborer in a printing office, born in Ind as were both parents, and included his
wife Elizabeth, 65, married a 32, born in Ky, father in Germany and mother in Ky, - his
son Howard, 32, a machinist in an auto factory, Ind, and his daughter Virginia, 16, Ind.
Hope this helps. Don
