Orley Krick Dies Today
Orley A. Krick, 62, of 204 South Eight Street, well known Decatur man, superintendent
of engineering and maintenance of Decatur Industries, Inc., died unexpectedly at 7:20 a.m.
today at the Adams County Memorial Hospital. He had been hospitalized for four days but
his death was unexpected, resulting from an embolism.
Mr. Krick operated his own welding shop in Decatur for 30 years before joing Decatur
Industries as maintenace supervisor in February of 1960. He was named to the
superintendent's post January 15, 1966.
Born in Union Township February 16, 1909, he was a son of Joseph and Ida Mauller Krick,
and was married to Naomi Ramsey July 12, 1930.
Mr. Krick was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, the Adams County Bacon
Burners, and the National Campers & Hikers association.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Francis (Vera) Jamison of
Decatur, Mrs. Thomas (Marvene) Buuck of Decatur route 2; three sons, Eugene O and Vance D.
Krick both of Ohio City, O., route 1, and Gerald F. Krick of Bluffton; four sisters, Mrs.
Mary Dickson of Decatur, Mrs. Otto (Alice) Schollenbroch of Clinton, Ia., Mrs. Josephine
(Dorothia) Valdez of Portage, and Mrs. Harold (Ireta) Hughes of Temple City , Calif.; five
brothers, Harry Krick of Clinton, Ia., Don and Paul Krick, both of Ossian rural route,
Joseph Krick, Jr., of Ripon, Wis., and Austin (Ted) Krick of North Dakota; and 11
grandchildren.
One grandson is deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Winteregg-Linn Funeral
Home, with Rev. Lawrence T. Norris officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday until time of the services.
Moose memorial services will be hed at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
