James L. Frank, 81, route 1, Berne, formerly of Salem, died at 4 p.m. Monday in Wells
Community Hospital, Bluffton. He had been bedridden the last two years.
Mr. Frank, who retired in 1968 as a farmer in Blackcreek Township, Mercer County, was a
charter member of Mr Hope Church of the Nazarene and served a Sunday School superintendent
for many years.
Born in Blue Creek Township, Adams County, on March 10, 1904, he was the son of Samuel
and Mary Myrtle Scoles Frank, and was married January 28, 1937, to Selma Luginbill; she
survives.
Also surviving are five children, Mrs. William D. (Dorothy) Neuenschwander, Berne;
Merlin Frank, route 1 Berne; Mrs. Leroy (Deloris) Bohnke, route 5, Decatur; Ronnie Frank,
route 6, Decatur; Mrs. Martin (Lucille) Bleeke, route 5, Decatur; two sisters, Mrs Herman
(Neva) Kuhn, Fort Wayne; Mrs. Samuel (Nora) Hamrick, route 1, Willshire; a brothers, John
Wesley Frank, Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers,
Charles and Roy Frank, are deceased.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Mt. Hope Church of the Nazarene, J. Dean
Pickett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at
Zwick-Boltz & Jahn Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday, until 11 a.m. Thursday, and
also at the church just prior to services. Memorials are to the church.
