PEARL I. OLIVER DIES AT HOSPITAL
Mrs. Pearl I. Oliver, 72, of route 1, Monroe, one-half mile north of Monroe, wife of W.
C. Oliver, died at 12:10 p.m. (EDT) Sunday at the Otis hospital in Celina, O. She had
been hospitalized 10 days and ill two years.
Born in Adams County on Nov. 29, 1900, she was the daughter of Frank and Lillian
Gause-Strickler, and was married on March 16, 1920 to W.C. Oliver, who survives. They
were married 53 years.
Also surviving are five children, Franklin T. Oliver of route 1, Monroe; Fred Oliver of
Berne; Mrs. Harold (Jean) Strahm of route 1, Decatur; Mrs. Robert (Joan) Workinger of
Decatur; Mrs. Paul (Janice) Hamrick of route 2, Monroeville; 14 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. One brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Zwick funeral home, with
Rev. William Harsin officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Bluffton.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. tonight.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Oliver, Rex Oliver, Terry Strahm, Charles Fisher, Malcomb
Miesse and Brad Hamrick.
