FRANCIS H. FAUROTE
Francis H. "Fritz" Faurote, 66, 405 Rod St., a well-known Decatur resident
noted as a coin dealer, died suddenly in Adams County Memorial Hospital at 6:43 p.m.
Tuesday after a long illness.
He was born on November 2, 1927 in Decatur to Henry J. and Mary M. Braun Faurote and
married Dorothy M. Bower on January 15, 1949. She survives.
He was a car salesman locally before becoming a coin dealer. He was a member of St.
Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He was a member of
Adams Post 43 of the American Legion and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II.
Other survivors are two sons, Michael G. and Steven F. Faurote, both of Decatur; a
daughter, Beth Ann Faurote, Decatur; four brothers, Carl W., Vincent A., Anthony J.,
and Paul E. Faurote, all of Decatur; three sisters, Mary Catherine Welker, Fort Wayne
and Mrs. Guy (Henrietta) Trenladue and Mrs. C. Joseph (Josephine) Beauchot, both of
Decatur; and six grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Zwick-Sefton and Jahn Funeral
Home, Decatur, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the
Assumption Catholic Church, Father Robert J. Dombrowski officiating. Burial will be in
St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur, will full military rites by American Legion Post
43.
Visiting hours will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, with a rosary service at 8:30
p.m. Thursday. Preferred memorials are to the church for masses or to the American
Diabetes Association.
