DR. BURT MANGOLD DIES AT DECATUR
Prominent Decatur Man Dies After Extended Illness
Dr. Daniel Burt Mangold, 53, prominent Decatur dentist, died at his home at Decatur
Wednesday night after a several months' illness of uremia.
Dr. Mangold, a dentist for more than 30 years, was active in civic and political
organizations, and served for 12 years as a member of the Decatur school board, 11 of
which he was president. He was active for many years in the Democratic party.
The deceased was a native of Decatur, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Mangold, both of whom
still reside there, and he was born August 18, 1883. He attended the Decatur public
schools and graduated from Indiana dental school in Indianapolis in 1905.
He married Nora Andrews May 8, 1907. No children were born to their union. Surviving
besides the widow and parents is one sister, Mrs. Herb Kern of Decatur. Private funeral
services will be held at the home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with Rev. Kenneth Timmons
officiating. Burial will be made in the Decatur cemetery.
