MRS. JOEL ELLENBERGER DIES SATURDAY
Mrs. Joel Ellenberger, aged 38, died at 7:30 o'clock Saturday morning at her home
on Jefferson street. Death was due to pneumonia and nephritis, her illness extending over
a period of twelve days.
Mrs. Ellenberger was born November 6, 1887, on a farm in Hartford township, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob J. Flory. Her marriage to Joel Ellenberger took place
September 3, 1904. They have lived in this community since. Surviving besides the
husband are three children, two daughters, Opal and Mrs. Clifford Clark and one son,
Floyd.
Her father, Jacob Flory, survives, while her mother preceded her, dying November 14,
1914. Two brothers, Rufus and Levi, and three sisters, Pearl, Tilla and Viola preceded
her. Seven sisters live to mourn her death. They are Mrs. John Bixler, Mrs. William
Miller, Mrs. Levi Stucky, Mrs. Ben Hinkley of Kendallville, Mrs. John Nudding of Toledo,
O., Mrs. William Boyce and Mrs. Edna Langdon, both of Fort Wayne.
The deceased was a member of the German Reformed church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at
the Reformed church, Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be made at the M. R. E. cemetery.
