TEN YEAR OLD CHILD DIES OF SCARLET FEVER SUNDAY
Delvin Durand, ten-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Johnston of Nottingham township,
Wells county, died at the home at 8:15 o'clock Sunday evening. Death was due to
scarlet fever.
The Johnston family has been quarantined for three weeks. The family moved on the Ben
Moyer farm in Wells county several years ago from Selma, Illinois.
Surviving are his parents, one brother and one sister.
Due to the contagious disease that has infested the home there will be no funeral
services. The body will be put in a hermetically sealed box, taken to Poneto, accompanied
only by the father and the corpse sent to Selma, Illinois, for burial.
