DEATH CLAIMS NOAH FOX AT 1:20 THIS P.M.
Prominent Farmer, Who Has Been Critically Ill, Dies
FUNERAL SERVICES THURSDAY MORNING
Noah Fox, aged 56, well known Monroe township farmer of one mile north of Berne on
Federal Road No. 27, died at his home at 1:20 o'clock this afternoon.
Mr. Fox had been in failing health for about three months and several weeks ago he was
removed to the Lutheran hospital at Fort Wayne. He was returned to his home again but his
health continued to fail. Mr. Fox suffered with a complication of diseases.
Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Lilly Hirschy Fox, and five children: Arthur, Herman,
James, Dorothy and Gordon, whose birthday is today. Gordon is 18 years old. James
returned here from California two weeks ago to be at his father's bedside. Two
sisters, Mrs. Melinda Moser, of Peoria, Ill., and Miss Emma Fox of Berne, also survive.
One sister died in infancy.
Mr. Fox was born in Monroe twp., on October 18, 1875. He would have been 57 on
Tuesday, Oct. 18. Both his father, Michael Fox, and mother, Elizabeth Captain Fox,
preceded him in death.
Rev. J. W. Kliewer, pastor of the First Mennonite church performed the ceremony which
united Mr. and Mrs. Fox on May 29, 1904. They have lived on the farm north of Berne since
1906. Mr. Fox was a member of the Mennonite Male Choir for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home Thursday morning at 9:00 o'clock and
at the Mennonite church, of which he was a loyal member, at 9:30. Rev. C. H. Suckau,
pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be made at the M.R.E. cemetery west of
Berne.
