ADELA THIEME DIES SUNDAY AT AGE 69
Mrs. Adela Thieme, 69, of route 3, a lifelong resident of Adams county, died at 7:45
a.m. Sunday at the Lutheran Home, Fort Wayne, where she had been a patient for the past
six and one-half years. She had been in ill health for many years.
Mrs. Thieme was born on August 3, 1905, in Root township, the daughter of August and
Christine Holle-Bohnke, and was married on December 30, 1923, to Fred Thieme, who
survives. They had observed their golden wedding anniversary last year.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Lester (Evelyn) Aumann of route 1, Decatur;
Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Graft of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Raymond (Lois) Graft of route 1,
Hoagland; and Mrs. Robert (Bernita) Harvey of route 1, Decatur; two sons, Delmer and
James, both of route 3, Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. Otto (Ruth) Etzler, of Elma, O.;
Mrs. Simon (Velma) Thieme of route 3, Decatur; and Mrs. T. D. (Helen) Schieferstein of
Decatur; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three grandchildren preceded
her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Zwick funeral home and
at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Otto A. Brillinger officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m.
tonight. Preferred memorials are to Lutheran Homes, Inc. or the church building fund.
Mrs. Thieme was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the
Ladies' Aid.
