Marion E. Brodbeck, 81, 627 Cleveland St., died at 7:55 a.m. today in the Adams County
Memorial Hospital Extended Care Unit.
A member of the Decatur Church of God, he retired from General Electric in Decatur as a
punch press operator after 34 years of service. He was a World War II veteran and a
member of the American Legion Post 43, Quarter Century Club and the GE Retirees.
He was born in Adams County to Clarence and Cora Shell Brodbeck on November 16, 1909.
He married Juanita Krugh on December 13, 1938; she died September 16, 1957. Also
preceding in death were two sons: Marion, Jr., and Rodney; three brothers, Roy, John and
Chester; and a sister, Fanny Ross.
Surviving are a daughter; Sheri L. Brodbeck, Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Gay,
Decatur, and Mrs. Harold (June) Hakes, Missoula, Montana; and a brother, Walter
"Ike" Brodbeck, Decatur.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Haggard & Armes Funeral Home, Rev. Kenneth J. Mishler
officiating. Burial will be in Tricker Cemetery, east of Monroe. American Legion Post 43
will perform military graveside rites. Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 10
a.m. to the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
