Bell Grim Died of Tuberculosis at Her Home on Grant Street
Early Sunday Night
Funeral Will be Held from Christian Church---Burial in Maplewood.
Bell Grim Schlagel, wife of Augustus Schlagel, died at her home on Grant street Sunday
night from tuberculosis. She was married in March 1875, to August Schlagel, to which
union there were born two children, Lawrence and Cora, the son surviving. She has lived
with a grandson, who is crippled, in the house on Grant street for many years and is well
known throughout the city.
She had been a sufferer from tuberculosis for some time and her decline was gradual,
death coming late Sunday night. She has one sister and five brothers, who have been
notified of her death, and who will be here in time for the funeral.
The funeral services will be held from the Christian church in this city Tuesday,
commencing at 2 o'clock and interment will be in the Decatur cemetery, the Rev. Dawson
officiating.
