Got this off another list and thought it might be of interest to someone.

Subject: [PADUTCHgenONLY-L] DIETRICH AND BOYER COUSINS IN PENNSYLVANIA
Hello, may I introduce myself? I'm new to the list but had a
successful
"roots" trip to Adams County in 1995, thanks to advance help from Sheryl
Snyder of the Adams Co. Historical Society office and to Harold Ditzler in
Biglerville. Because a fraction of Jacob Dietrich's farm was in the Manor
of Maske, the ACHS was able to send maps locating it on today's roads.
Translated and published church records were critical to findiing the
church and beautifully maintained cemetery.
(JOHANN) NICHOLAUS DIETRICH (1727 Riesweiler, Simmern Dist., Pfalz - 1813,
Adams Co, PA) is my immigrant ancestor, buried at Benders Church Cemetery,
Butler Twp. Found him on the Tax Lists in Earl Twp., Lancaster Co, as a
weaver. He married ANNA MARGARETA SHAFFER, 1752, Lancaster Co.
Their children (a work in progress, may not be in order)
l. JACOB(1753-180l Straban Twp) m Margaretha (My Line)
2. BALTZER (1755-1838 Muskingum Co, OH) m. Sara Elizabeth STRICKLER
3. NICHOLAS m. Anna Maria (no children)
4. WILLIAM (1762-1848)
5. MARTIN (b by 1765) m Susanna WERTZ
6. MICHAEL (b1768 -1843) m Sophia SPANGLER
7. GERTRUDE? m. Andreas/Andrew ZIEGLER
8. MARIA MAGDALENA m. G. SCHWENGEL/SWINGLE
9. Unknown daughter m. EYSTER/OYSTER/EISTER
10 JOHN
11.MARGARETHA
JACOB DIETRICH (1753-1801) m. Margaretha (unknown). Their children:
l. MARGARET "PEGGY" (b. 1783) m JOSEPH HENDRICKS
2. PETER (b. ca 1784)
3. MARY "POLLY" m. PHILIP NUNAMAKER/NUMABERGER
4. ELIZABETH "BETSY" (b. 1786) m. ABNER COX
5. MARIA GERTHDRAUT "GERTRUDE" (b 1789) m. MICHAEL BOWER/BOWERS/BAUER
6. SUSANA "SUSAN" (B 1791) m. MICHAEL SHEETZ/SHITZ
7. MARIA CHRISTINA "CATHERINE MARY" (b. 1794) m. WILLIAM SKINNER
8. CHRISTIANA "died young"
9. JOHANN NICOLAS JACOB "JOHN JACOB NICHOLAS" (b 1799--moved to
Fredericksburg, Wayne Co., OH-- d 1888 Defiance, OH); m. 1823 ELIZABETH
BOYER (My Line). Americanized the surname spelling to DEATRICK.
My Mother always told us that it was the custom of her grandfather, John J.
N. Deatrick (above) to eat a dozen eggs on Easter Morning! Could this
traditionl story help connect me to Dietrich/Deatrick and Boyer cousins?
