I've written my letter to the Indianapolis Star regarding the "Death of a
Cemetery." I've also emailed several of our legislators and had a favorable
reply back from one of them. I intend to see that a copy of the
Indianapolis Star article gets into the hands of the Adams Co. Historical
Society and hopefully, they will see fit to publish something about it in
their newsletter. I'm also going to ask the Decatur Library to let me put a
copy of the article on the bulletin board in their entrance, and also one in
the genealogy research room.
Come on, folks! Let's get upset! Let's get angry! Let's get behind this
effort to get the laws changed! Let your legislators know how you feel!
Our dead ancestors no longer pay taxes or vote! The big corporations do!
But SO DO WE! Let's let our legislators know that as taxpayers and voters
we DEMAND that these laws concerning cemeteries be changed! If nothing is
done, one of these days we may get to stand by and watch the bones of our
grandparents, parents, or even our children being ripped from their graves
by some giant heartless corporation!
