Edgar C. Fuelling, 79, Willshire, Ohio, a member of the Willshire Town Council since
1978 and a past president of the council, died at 10!% p.m. Sunday in the Adams County
Memorial Hospitals's intensive car unit after a long illness.
He was born on January 23, 1918 in Adams County to Frederick and Elsie Franz Fuelling
and married Okaleah M. Stetler, who survives.
He retired in June, 1980 after a 33-year career as a pipefitter at the former
International Harvester plant in Fort Wayne. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran
Church, where he held several offices. He was a member of American Legion Post 43 and
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6236, both in Decatur.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of staff sergeant
while participating in the North African and Italian campaigns.
Other survivors are a son, Edgar E. Fuelling, Celina, Ohio; three sisters, Ellen
Springer, Hoagland, and Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Kunkle and Dorothy DeLong, both of rural Decatur;
a brother, Frederick Fuelling, rural Decatur; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Peter Lutheran Church, rural
Decatur, with burial in the church cemetery, including military graveside rites by
American Legion Post 43. Visiting hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Zwick, Sefton,
and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and 1-2 p.m. Thursday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to St. Peter-Immanuel Lutheran School, the Willshire Park
Fund, or the Van Wert Area Visiting Nurse program.
