I may be able to help you with the Wayne and Randolph,Wells,and possibly some of Adams
county info. I research the burial sites of Indiana Civil War soldiers and I am currently
compiling all of these counties. I have 95% of Wayne and Randolph cemeteries completed, so
I have looked through a lot of cemetery records,county histories,historical museum
info,etc.
Here are a few to start-
Joseph Mendenhall, 6th Indiana Cavalry,co L,corporal. Buried in Earlham Cemetery,Wayne
county.Died 10-3-1908
John A. Mendenhall,2nd Indiana Cavalry,co I. Born 10-21-1833 Died 2-10-1878. Buried at
Earlham Cemetery,Wayne county. Father was Griffith Mendenhall. Mother was Elizabeth
Mendenhall. Captured in Stonemans Raid. He was a hospital steward while he was a
prisoner.
Edward Starbuck,jr. died 9-25-1874 61 years. Union City Cem, Randolph county.
Mary Starbuck, 1st wife of Edward. Buried at Union City Cem,Randolph county. died
1-13-1840 40 years
Lydia Ann Starbuck,2nd wife of Edward. Died 3-27-1863 37 years. Buried at Union City
Cem,Randolph county,IN.
Maria Mendenhall buried at Maple Grove Cem,Wayne county.
Samuel B. Mendenhall buried at Webster Cem,Wayne county. Born 4-22-1848. Died 12-3-1892.
John Macy buried at West Lawn Hagerstown Cem,Wayne county,IN.Born 5-8-1841. Died 1922.
Henry B. Macy,9th Indiana Cavalry, buried at West River Friends Cem,Wayne county. Born
2-14-1846.Wounded at the battle of Franklin,Tn. Died 2-12-1865.(Quaker). Father was Isaac
Macy, mother was Eleanor Macy.
Sylvanus Macy,69th Indiana Infantry,co D buried at West River Friends Cem, Wayne County.
Born 11-18-1843. Died 3-11-1911.(Quaker). He was taken prisoner at Richmond,KY. He was
paroled,exchanged and then discharged for disability.

Elihu Coffin,Father was Moses Coffin,mother was Phebe Coffin.Buried at Westland Friends

Joseph Coffin,7th Indiana Cavalry,co B. Buried at White River Cem,Randolph county. Died
11-11-1863. 18 years old.
Nathan Hiatt, Randolph county. Father was Eli Hiatt. Mother was Mary Hiatt. Killed at
Chickamauga,GA on 9-20-1863. 84th Indiana Infantry,co A.
Pleasant Hiatt,Randolph county. 106th Indiana Infantry,co A.
Sylvester Hiatt, Jay county 34th Indiana Infantry,co B. Buried at Quaker Cem,Jay
county,IN.
Jeremiah Hiatt, Buena Vista Cem, Randolph county,IN. Born 1847. Died 12-17-1927.
Alexander Starbuck, Buena Vista Cem, Randolph county,IN. 9th Indiana Cavalry,co C. Died
9-8-1865. 18 years old.
William M. Macy, 19th Indiana Inf,co C. buried at Fountain Park Cem, Winchester, Randolph
county,IN.
James S. Mills,9th Indiana Inf,drafted.New Garden Friends Church.Born 1836.
There are some Sumners in Hamilton and Morgan county that were Quakers.
