Surname: Miller, Burrell
-------------------------
These Millers would appear to be those from Root Twp with the bio on p.
583 of the 1979 History of Adams Co, IN. Are any descendents still there
today? The Burrell family is no doubt the early Burrell's who settled first
in Mass > MD about 1627 from England. They migrated into Pa and Oh. John
Lenhart 1797-1877 married Rebecca Burrell and they settled in Root Twp,
Adams CO 1839. One of John and Rebecca's son, Joseph Lenhart went to Montgomery
Co, KS, (just east of where this Bible was purchased). I would guess this
Elmer Miller, m. Burrell, went to KS with Joseph Lenhart & others.
From the 1979 Adams Co., IN History Book:
ADAMS CO HISTORY BOOK
- p. 583, Root Twp
"Alva Miller & wife, Margaret May Miller came to Union Twp., Adams Co from

William and Minerva. Wm was born on July 4, 1853, d. July 4, 1928. Wm married
Ella Hackett, April 2, 1876....children
1) Curtis (1879), m. Bertha Cline, sons Delma and Lauren
2) Earl (1880-1882)
3) May (1886), m. Marion Stults (children Francis, Thearl and Thrueman);
4) Norris 1881-1915
5) Ammi (1896- 1978), m. Urcel Casselman 1916, one adopted dau, Mrs. Homer
(Betty) Miller
6) Gladys (1899), m. Ora Hinton - dau Maxint Hartman and son, Keith
The Millers were active in Pleasant Grove United Brethren Church and union
Chapel United Methodist Church.
Ammi drove the Root Twp school bus for 32 years along wi farming.
True L. Miller is listed as veteran of WWI. He purchased a lot in Decatur
(p. 66) of the old "Riley" school. "
If anyone knows of any present descendents of these families, perhaps they
could be notified so they could have this old Bible. Or would the Historical
Society be interested?
