I recently recieved some extracts from the Wilshire Herald newspaper that
mentions Roop Reunions held in Decatur (usually in Sept) from 1913 to 1926.
I have included the the listings with dates. Could someone look to see if
there is anything in the Decatur papers about these reunions?

P5, Mrs. Lewis AUGUST and daughter, Esther, attended the ROOP family reunion
in Decatur today.
Thursday, September 9, 1915, Vol. XX, No. 32
P1, From Decatur Herald - Descendants of Frederick ROOP gathered at Decatur
last Thursday, 150 in attendance. Frederick ROOP, who shortly after the
colonial days lived in Huntington county, Penn, had five sons - Joseph,
Samuel, Amos, John and Jacob. Frederick died in Penn. Sons emigrated to
western Ohio in early 19th century. Attendees from Willshire: Kate
TROUTNER, George DELLINGER and family, Lou SCHUMM and family, Mr. and Mrs.
L.W. AUGUST and family, Mrs. N.J. SHAFFNER and daughter Selma, Mrs. Amanda
GEPHART, Mrs. Mary ROOP and Amos TROUTNER.
Friday, August 3, 1917, Vol. XXII, No. 18
P1, 5th annual reunion of the ROOP family will be held at Steele's Park in
Decatur on August 30th. Rev. Carl ROOP of Dayton, president of the
organization, will deliver an address.
Thursday, September 9, 1926, Vol. 31, No. 22
P1, 14th annual ROOP family reunion was held in Bellmont Park at Decatur,
Ind. on Sept. 5th. Officers elected: Pres - Carl Vernon ROOP; V. Pres -
Andrew ROOP; Secretary/treasurer - Mrs. George H. DELLINGER.
