Dear Chris,
Thank you for posting this. I don't have any information about
Daisy or her relationship to Russell or Goldie, but I believe
that I can identify Goldie. She was a CALDERWOOD and my
Grandma's second cousin.
Here is an Ahnentafel of Goldie's ancestry:
First Generation
1. Goldie Calderwood was born in Apr 1888 in Adams County,
Indiana.
Second Generation (Parents)
2. George Calderwood was born about 1842-1848 in Ohio.
3. Jemima Ellen Johnson was born on 27 Oct 1856 in Adams
County, Indiana, died on 20 Feb 1899 in Adams County, Indiana,
and was buried in Backesto Cemetery in Monroe Twp, Adams,
Indiana.
George Calderwood and Jemima Johnson were married 23 May 1875
in Adams County, Indiana; the marriage ended in divorce.
Third Generation (Grandparents)
4. G. Washington Calderwood was born 3 Dec 1815 in
Pennsylvania and died 11 Nov 1915.
5. Sarah Clark was born in 1817 in Pennsylvania and died 30
May 1899.
6. Benjamin Johnson was born in 1834 in Ohio and died on 14
Mar 1864 in Fort DeRussy, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana.
7. Mariah Lhamon was born on 26 Jul 1835 in Knox County, Ohio,
died on 26 Jan 1920 in Adams County, Indiana, and was buried in
Backesto Cemetery in Monroe Twp, Adams, Indiana.
Benjamin Johnson and Mariah Lhamon were married on 25 Dec 1853
in Adams County, Indiana.
Mariah married (2)William A Lee on 14 Jan 1867 in Adams
County, Indiana.
Mariah married (3)John Yant.
===================
Benjamin Johnson's sister Margaret Schooler Johnson married
Mariah Lhamon's brother Abraham Lhamon; they were my
great-great-grandparent.
Mariah was the "Grandma Yant" referred to in the postcard, which
means it was written before her death in 1920. She may have
raised Goldie after her mother's death; in the 1900 census
Goldie and her brother Guy are living with Mariah and John Yant.
I have plenty more information on the Johnson and Lhamon
families for anyone who is interested.
I think Russell Waggoner may have been a son of Allen G.
Waggoner, can anyone confirm that? If someone has access to the
1900 census I would really appreciate a lookup for this family.
I have found Russell and Goldie in Clio, Michigan in both the
1920 and 1930 censuses, and would be happy to share with anyone
interested.
Hope this helps,
Jane Irish Nelson
