This book has no cover, and no index, and no author. I bought it on Ebay; it just has the
insides, but it is full of Indiana biographies. I am not researching this family, just
thought I would share. I do not know anymore about these families or these surnames. NOTE:
I don’t know if there is any additional mention of this family in the book, it has no
index. I do not want to sell this book. I am typing the biographies from it.

ROBERT E. DANIELS is an accomplished young physician and surgeon practicing at Decatur,
with offices at 127 North Third Street and home at 235 North Sixth Street. Doctor Daniels
was born at Preble, Adams County, Indiana, September 4, 1904. His father, Joseph Daniels,
was born in Adams County July 21, 1863, and died May 21, 1910, being buried at Decatur. By
profession he was a telegraph operator, and for many years handled the local business of
the Erie Railway at Decatur. He subsequently moved to Preble, Adams County, to take charge
of the Standard Oil Pumping Station. He married Minnie Laura Cross, who was born in
Tuscarawas County, Ohio, September 7, 1866. To their marriage were born seven children
Doctor Daniels -being the youngest. The oldest, Velma, who was born at- Decatur, is the
wife of Dr. Frank C. Mann, now connected with the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minnesota, and
they have three children, named Frank J., Ruth Jacquette and Joseph Daniels. Marie, the

ter, was born at Preble, is the wife of Charles E. Hammond, a Decatur contractor, and of
their two children the daughter Barbara died in infancy, and the surviving child is Keith.
Nellie W. Daniels, who was born at Preble, is the -wile of James K. Staley, traffic
manager for the Cloverleaf Creamery at Decatur, and they have two children, Margaret
Virginia, born in 1920, and Roger Paul, born in 1926. Ruth Daniels, who was also born at
Preble, is now secretary to the head of the publicity department of the Mayo Clinic at
Rochester, Minnesota. The oldest son of the family is Harold R. Daniels, who was born at
Preble, is a printer by trade, and in the fall of 1918, at the age of seventeen, enlisted
for service in the World war. He was put in the regular army and after a few months of
training was sent overseas and spent two years in France and Germany, being with the
Second Division at Coblenz for a year after the armistice was signed. Harold Daniels
married Annette Studor, of !
Fort Wayne, and has two children, Nancy, born in 1926, and Joseph Henr
y, born in 1928. The sixth member of the family is Paul Joseph Daniels, a sign painter at
Fort Wayne, who married Lucy Book, of that city. Dr. Robert E. Daniels was educated in the
common high schools of Decatur, and in 1928 entered the University of Indiana at
Bloomington. For three years he pursued a general literary course and completed his
pre-medical studies at Bloomington, and then transferred to the medical department of the
University at Indianapolis, where he was graduated M. D. June 11, 1928. Doctor Daniels had
the advantage of experience as an interne in the Epworth Hospital at South Bend, and on
April 23, 1929, began his independent practice at Decatur. He is unmarried, is a member of
the Christian Church, and belongs to the Adams County Medical Association.
