Death Claims Edward Beer
French Township Farmer Dies Saturday
Following Extended Illness
Edward Beer, 41, farmer of French township died Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock at his
home following a several years' illness. Death was due to tuberculosis and
Bright's disease.
Mr. Beer was born in Monroe township, Adams County on December 26, 1891, a son of Eli and
Lizetta Leichty-Beer. On October 14, 1916, he was united in marriage to Emma Roth. Mr.
Beer was a member of the Reformed Church at Berne.
Surviving are the parents and widow, and six children: Leola, 18; Kenneth, 16; Bertaline,
12; Roland, 10; Eli, 8 and Mary Ellen, 2. Four brothers and three sisters survive: Homer,
French township; Elmer, Monroe township; Melvin, Fort Wayne; Roy, Union township; Mrs.
Albert Welchly, Berne; Mrs. William Bertsch, and Mrs. John Ebnit of Kirkland township.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 O'clock at the Berne Reformed
church. Burial will be made in the Defenseless Mennonite church cemetery. Rev. J. L.
Conrad will officiate.
