Mary. Not related, just trying to help. Jeremiah Chrisman married Nancy Riley in Clark
county Ind on 6 Oct 1831.In the 1850 census for Clark county, Charlestown, page 62 of 95,
the family was headed by Jeremiah Crisman (as spelled), 46, a farmer with real estate
valued at $1000, born in Pa, and included Nancy, 44, Ky, - John M, 18, - Margaret, 15, -
Eliza, 12, - Bery (female), 10, - Mary, 8, - Catherine, 7, - William, 5, - probably twins
James and Martha, 2, and Robert Smith, 27, a farm laborer, Ohio. All children born in
Ind. Unfortunately, prior to 1880 no family relationships were shown in the censuses. By
1860 the family had moved to Iowa, Appanoose county, Udel township, and was headed by
Jeremiah Chrisman, 58, a farmer with real estate valued at $1500 and personal estate of
$826, born in Pa, and included Nancy, 54, Ky, - Mary A, 18, Ind, - Sarah, 16, Ind, - Wm H,
16, Ind, and the twins James H and Martha J, 11, Ind. I found a family tree which
hasn't been updated!
for over 3 years so the address of the person who posted it is probably no longer valid.
The tree indicated that Jeremiahs parents were Thomas Chrisman, born 1795, and Suzanna
Grenn. They had the following children, Jeremiah, - Albert, 1813, - Arthur, 1815, in
Baltimore, - Obed, 1817, Baltimore, - Mary, 1818, - Jehu (Juber), 1823, Va, - Isaic, 1827,
Va, - John D, 1828, Wheeling, Va, (WVa did not become a separate state until the Civil
War), and Ely, 1830. Hope this helps. Don
