The Indiana Historical Society will host a genealogy
lecture on using vital records from 10 a.m. to noon on
June 25. Vital records (births, marriages, and deaths)
are among the richest of documents when researching
family history. The first part of Pat Gooldy's
presentation will provide tips on where to find the
records and the second part will explain where to look
and what records can be used as substitutes when vital
records are not available. Goodly is owner of Ye Olde
Genealogie Shoppe and is a retired elementary school
teacher, having received her bachelor's degree from
The University of Indianapolis and her master's at
Butler University. Goodly specializes in the design
and introduction of new forms/charges as well as the
indexing, compiling and editing of genealogical
records. The cost to attend the workshop is $10; $5
IHS members. The registration deadline is June 13.
