Memorial services for Gene R. Auker, 44, Texas City, Texas, a former Geneva resident who died in Nevada Tuesday, will be held at 10 a.m. on June 22 in Downing Funeral Home, Geneva, with burial in Lawndale Cemetery, Ridgeville, Indiana.
Preferred memorials are to the Adams County of the American Cancer Society.

Jessie L. Ross Lee, 80, Delight, Arkansas, mother of two Adams County residents, died June 6 in Arkansas.
Among survivors are four sons, including Joe Lee, Berne; six daughters, including Gertrude Pennington, Geneva; two brothers and two sisters. Burial was in Delight Cemetery.

ARTHUR A. KIESS
Arthur A. Kiess, 85, Hinsdale, Illinois, a former Decatur resident who lived the past 60 years in the Chicago area, died May 29.
The Adams County native married Ruby Miller in 1930; she survives. He retired in 1969 after a 40-year career with Armour Packing Co. and was a graduate of Indiana University.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Nicholas (Patricia) Francke, Bismarck, North Dakota; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Louise) Sharpe, Flowery Branch, Georgia; and two brothers, Victor and Edgar Kiess, both of Decatur. Six brothers are deceased.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Zion United Church of Christ, Decatur, Rev. William Krepps officiating. Local funeral arrangements are by Zwick-Sefton and Jahn Funeral Home. Preferred memorials are to Zion United Church of Christ or Adams County Heart Club.

CLARENCE DeARMOND
Clarence W. DeArmond, 80, Carmel, Indiana, a former Decatur resident, and a native of Adams County, died Sunday in Community Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born in Adams County on March 25, 1910 to Arthur M. and Olive Wagers DeArmond. His wife, Frieda, died in 1980.
He retired in March, 1979, as a machinist at Fort Wayne's General Electric Co. plant and was a member of Grace St. John Church of Christ, Fort Wayne.
Surviving are a son; a sister, Doris Hart, Decatur; four brothers; six grandchildren; and six great--grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday in D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, with burial in MRE Cemetery, Berne. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

DALE L. MARQUARDT
Dale L. Marquardt, 70, Fort Wayne, a native of Monroeville, died Wednesday in Lutheran Hospital. He lived in Fort Wayne most of his lfe.
Surviving are his wife; one son; two daughters, including Linda K. Marquardt, Monroeville and two sisters.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday in D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, with burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today.

WOMAN DIES AT HOSPITAL
Mrs. Warren A. Wherry, Monroeville, Victim of Apoplexy
Mrs. Hattie C. Wherry, 56, wife of Warren A. Wherry, route 2, Monroeville, died at 9:30 o'clock Sunday morning at the Adams County Memorial Hospital. Death was caused by a stroke of apoplexy, following an illness of three weeks.
The deceased was born January 18, 1880 at Bucyrus, Ohio, a daughter of Isaac and Rosina Mollenkoff. She married Warren A. Wherry, November 22, 1903 at Convoy, Ohio, and lived on the farm near Monroeville, for the past 33 years. She was a member of the Clark's Chapel Methodist Episcopal church and was an accomplished worker in the Union township home economics club.
Surviving besides the husband is one daughter, Mrs. Marilynne Clem of Monroeville. One brother, J. F. Mollenkoff of Van Wert also survives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock CST at the residence in Union township. Rev. George Bailer will officiate and burial will be in the Convoy IOOF Cemetery at Convoy, Ohio.
The body will be taken from the Black funeral home this afternoon and may be viewed after 6 oc'lock this evening.
A request has been made by the family that flowers be omitted.

DEATH TAKES INFANT CHILD
Menno S. Schwartz Dies; 10 Brothers and Sisters Survive
Menno S. Schwartz, 6-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Schwartz of north of town, died at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of his parents. The child had been ailing for two months but died rather suddenly. The child's mother was in the garden and when she returned to the house the baby was dying. Death was caused by intestinal flu.
Menno S. Schwartz was born Dec. 15, 1935, a son of Samuel and Elizabeth Schwartz. Surviving are the parents and the following brothers and sisters: Mary, Jacob, Samuel, Joseph, Catharine, Elizabeth, Noah, Verena, Anna and Barbara. John, Daniel and an infant brother preceded.
The grandparents also survive, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schwartz and Mr. and Mrs. John J. Schwartz.
The funeral was held at the home Wednesday with burial in the (cut off)

MENINGITIS CLAIMS CHILD
John Charles Idlewine, 1, Dies at Home Last Night
John Charles Idlewine, aged 1, (cut).. at 11 o'clock Sunday evening. The child had been ill about four days. The sickness was at first diagnosed as influenza and developed into meningitis.
The lad was born June 12, 1935, a son of Harold and Nellie Bixler Idlewine.
Surviving are the parents and a two-year-old sister. The grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bixler and Charles Idlewine, also survive.
The funeral will be at 1:30 Wed. afternoon at the home, Rev. Curts officiating. Burial will be at Linn Grove.

FUNERAL FRIDAY
Funeral services for Miss Rhoda E. Rediger, aged 17, who died Tuesday afternoon of bronchial influenza at the home of her mother, Mrs. B. E. Rediger, 4122 Buell Drive, will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the residence and at 2 o'clock in the Fort Wayne Gospel Temple. The Rev. Clifford Hollifield will officiate.
Miss Rediger, daughter of the late Rev. B. E. Rediger, founder of the Fort Wayne Gospel Temple, had been ill for about a month. Her father died at four years ago and her mother is now president of the Fort Wayne Gospel Temple Corporation.
Miss Rediger was an accomplished student of the piano, and was a member of the Girls' Glee Club at the temple. She sang many times over the radio in a duet combination with Miss Harriett Rader. She was a pupil at South Side High School.
The body was taken to the Carl H. Hauck Funeral Home and was to be (cut)...residence late this (cut)...
