ADAMS COUNTY NATIVE DIES
Mrs. Harry Langworthy Dies Thursday Afternoon Of Pneumonia
Mrs. Harry Langworthy, 44, died late yesterday afternoon at her home in Salem following a several weeks illness with pneumonia.
The deceased was born in Adams county November 29, 1893, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Meyer and was married to Harry Langworthy on September 9, 1913. Until recently she had been living at Monroeville.
She was a member of the Monroeville M. E. church and of the ladies aid society of the church. Surviving, besides the husband, is a son, Robert. The mother also survives.
Surviving brothers and sisters are: Floid Meyer, Blue Creek township; Mr. (sic) R. E. Raudenbush, Blue Creek township; Mrs. Elmer Burnett, Monroeville and Mrs. Clarence Counterman, of Hoagland.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Salem Methodist church and burial will be made in the Spring Hill cemetery. The body will be taken from the S. E. Black funeral parlors to the Langworthy home in Monroeville Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and may be viewed there until time for the funeral.

Bertha McMichael Dies Last Evening
Mrs. Bertha B. McMichael, 72, a resident of St. Mary's Township, Decatur route 5, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for some time and hospitalized for the past eight days.
Born in Van Wert County, Ohio, August 26, 1890, she was a daughter of James and Sarah Cramer Mauller, and was married to Austin E. McMichael, March 18, 1915, in Van Wert. Her husband preceded her in death June 21, 1962.
Mrs. McMichael was a member of Mt Tabor Methodist Church at Bobo, and the St. Mary's Home Demonstration Club.
Surviving are two foster children, Harry McDermott of Decatur route 5, and Austin R. Krick of Piedmont, S.D., and one grandson, Harry Leo McDermott. Six brothers and sisters are deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Zwick Funeral Home, the Rev. A. C. Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery at Van Wert. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday until time of the services.

Bob Osterman Dies Suddenly
Robert L. Osterman, 50, of 4029 Robinwood Drive, Fort Wayne, a resident of Decatur until 1954, died suddenly of a heart attack at 7:40 a.m. this morning while on vacation at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Josephine Adams, 6048 Elston Ave., Chicago, Ill.
The son of Enos and Florence Wolfe Osterman, he was born at Monroe December 25, 1910. On November 12, 1930 he was married to Virginia Keller, who survives. He was graduated from Monroe High School in 1928.
An employee of International Harvester in Fort Wayne, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, Moose Lodge, and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fort Wayne.
In addition to the wife and daughter, survivors are: children, Mrs. David (Rita) Moore, Decatur; Mrs. Warren (Nita) Gilley, Fort Wayne; Julia, and Patricia, at home; and James P. Osterman, Tacoma, Wash.; brothers, Harlan O., of Dayton, O.; Ray, of Monroe, and Enos, of Decatur; sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Dora) Cheever, of Booneville, Ky.; and Mrs William (Nellie) Lummer, of Dayton, O.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Zwick Funeral Home after 9 p.m. Thursday evening. The Holy Name Society will say the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be Saturday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Decatur, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are not yet complete.

Brother of Decater resident is dead
Harvey L. Click, 74, of 2405 Fillmore street, Fort Wayne, was dead on arrival at St. Joseph's hospital Wednesday morning.
Mr. Click was a retired pipefitter for the Northern Indiana Public Service Co.
Surviving are five sons, Earl Click of O'Fallon, Mo., William Click of New Holland, Pa., Lloyd Click of Detroit, Mich., and Robert and Eugene Click, both of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Quickery and Mrs. Doris Orr, both of Fort Wayne; a brother, Charles Click of Fort Wayne; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Fredrick of Dayton, O., Mrs. Wanetta Grimes of Scranton, Pa., Mrs. Adah Weldy of Decatur, and Mrs. Nellie Switzer of Dayton, O.; 31 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons funeral home, with Rev. Paul Edwardson officiating. Burial will be in Covington memorial gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m.

Jess Sheets, 78, dies at hospital
Josiah E. (Jess) Sheets, 78, of 957 Walnut street, a retired farmer, died at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Adams county memorial hospital, where he had been a patient for seven weeks. He had been in failing health for several years.
He was born in Harrison township, Van Wert county, O, Dec. 21, 1892, a son of Salomon and Mary Ellen Myers-Sheets and was married to Addie (Vola) Woods Aug. 20, 1913. His wife preceded him in death May 31, 1969.
Mr. Sheets was a member of the Union Chapel United Methodist church.
Surviving are one son, Lloyd M. Sheets of Decatur, two daughters, Mrs. Lendall (Helen) Milheim of Tecumseh, Mich., and Mrs. Miles (Delsie) Mishiyama of Grand Rapids, Mich., 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Three sons, Lester, Lewis and Leo, and three brothers are deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Zwick funeral home, with Rev. Kenneth Swan officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of the services. Preferred memorials are to the Adams county Cancer society.

BERNE MAN DEAD
Rufus Flory, Former Berne Citizen, Died in Fort Wayne Yesterday
Contracted the Flu
Body will be Taken to Berne for Burial - Was 29 Years of Age
Rufus Flory, former Berne man, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob J. Flory, of that city died yesterday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock at his home on Dawson street. He had been in failing health for two months and recently contracted influenza which developed into inflammation of the brain.
Mr. Flory was a moterman for the Indiana Service Corporation and moved to Fort Wayne two years ago.
He is survived by the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob J. Flory; the wife, two daughters, Esther and Selma and eight sisters - Mrs. Delia Miller, Mrs. John Bixler, Mrs. Flavine Billman, Mrs. Ben Hinkley and Mrs. John Nuding (only five sisters listed).
Funeral services were held at 10:30 o'clock this morning at the residence in Fort Wayne. The remains were taken to Berne at noon by the Anderbruck undertakers.

CLIFFORD E. ROE
Clifford E. Roe, 76, rural Monroe, died suddenly at his Bluecreek Township home Tuesday.
He was born on October 25, 1916 in Adams County to Fred J. and Daisey (sic) Galloway Roe and married Violet Manley on March 15, 1936; she survives.
He retired in 1976 from International Harvester in Fort Wayne after 40 years in the forge shop. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and served as one of the trustees the past 25 years. He was also president of his church's homecoming celebration and a member of the Blue Creek Coon Hunters' Association.
Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Linda) McMillen, rural Decatur and Mrs. Richard (Pauline) Minnich, rural Geneva; two sons, Clifford Leon and Lynn Roe, both of rural Monroe; two brothers, Raymond Roe, rural Monroe, and Ernest Roe, rural Decatur; two sisters, Helen Davis, Decatur and Lillian Kincaid, rural Decatur; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son Larry E. Roe; two brothers, Delmas and Robert Roe; and a sister, Wilma Hough.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Zwick-Sefton and Jahn Funeral Home, Rev. Stephen Bard officiating. Burial will be in Backesto Cemetery, rural Monroe, with Roger Minnich, Ron Minnich, Randy Minnich, Rex McMillen, Pat Myers, Cary Arner, Chad Arner and James Arnold as pallbearers.
Visiting hours are 6-9 p.m. today and noon-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Preferred memorials are to the church.

EVANGELINE McCONNELL
Evangeline R. McConnell, 87, a resident of Woodcrest in Decatur, died Tuesday in Adams County Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 1, 1905 in Culver, Indiana and married Richard K. McConnell on August 30, 1924. He died on January 2, 1973.
She was a homemaker and a member of the board of directors of F. McConnell and Son of New Haven. She was also a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and its Faith Circle, and the Civic Department of Decatur Women's Club.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth J. McConnell, Decatur; a daughter, Kathleen Taylor, Belmont, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Richard C. McConnell; a brother, Charles McConnehey; a sister, Abbie Kolter; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Rev's. Fuhrman Miller and Lynn Soughan officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Haggard and Armes Funeral Home and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church. Preferred memorials are to the church.

MERLE ELLENBERGER
Services for Merle Ellenberger, 79, Jackson, O., a native of Berne, were held Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church, Jackson. He died last Wednesday in Holzer Medical Center.
He was employed 37 years with G. C. Murphy Co. and was manager of the downtown Jackson store before retiring in 1968. He was born in Berne to the late Amos and Della Ellenberger.
Survivors include his wife, Amy; two daughters, Julia Brofford, Grove City, O., and Lydia Kunz, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; one son, John D., Jackson; one sister, Gladys Edmunds, Fort Wayne; and one brother, Herman Ellenberger, Bryant; and seven grandchildren.
Following services, burial was in Fairmount Cemetery. Memorials are donations to the parsonage fund of the Christ United Methodist Church.

EDITH M. ZIZELMAN
Edith M. Zizelman, 71, Decatur, died unexpectedly at 3:20 p.m. Sunday (Ohio time) in Van Wert County, Hospital, Van Wert, Ohio.
She was born in Mercer County, Ohio on March 5, 1918 to William and Bessie White Beougher and married Jack Zizelman; he died July 5, 1974. She was a housekeeper at Adams County Memorial Hospital for 10 years and attended Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one sister, Florence Fast, route 5, Decatur; one brother, Clifford Beougher, St. Mary, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. One daughter, Sharon, and two brothers are deceased.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday (Ohio time) at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, with burial in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Tuesday (Ohio time) at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Van Wert Area Visiting Nurses.

Mary Biddle, 87, Bluffton, mother of a Craigville woman, died at 4:40 a.m. MOnday in
Wells Community Hospital, Bluffton. She was a retired nurse's assistant.
Her husband, Scott "Mick" Biddle, died in 1982. Surviving are three daughters,
including Rosella Mills, Craigville; three brothers; 11 grandchildren; and 20 greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m Wednesday in Goodwin Memorial Chapel, Bluffton,
with burial in Six Mile Cemetery, Wells County. Visiting hours are 2 to 9 p.m. today.

FRANK SHEETS DIES LATE MONDAY NIGHT
Funeral Services Thursday Afternoon
Frank O. Sheets, 71, retired farmer residing seven miles southwest of Convoy, O., died at 11:30 o'clock Monday night at the Clinic hospital in Bluffton after an illness of several months. He had been hospitalized since Jan. 18.
He was born in Harrison township, Van Wert County, O., Dec. 5, 1882, a son of George and Susanna Mentzer-Sheets, and was a lifelong resident of the township. He was married to Maude Manley Aug. 28, 1910.
Mr. Sheets was a lifelong member of the Bethlehem Lutheran church in Harrison township.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Gale and Carl Sheets, both of Harrison township; four grandchildren; two brothers, Otto Sheets of Convoy and Peter Sheets of Van Wert, and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Knavel of Convoy and Mrs. Susie Springer of Harrison township. One daugher, two brothers and one sister are deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. (EST) Thursday af the Bethlehem Lutheran church in Harrison township, the Rev. Guy M. Lubold officiating. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery at Van Wert. The body was brought to the Zwick funeral home, where friends may call this evening. The body will be removed to the residence, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, when it will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of the services.

JAY H. MINCH DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Jay H. Minch, 38, retired Decatur police officer, died at 3:15 o'clock Thursday afternoon at his home, 858 Park View Drive. Death followed an extended illness.
Mr. Minch was a member of the city police force for six years until illness forced his retirement last year.
He was born in Jay county Aug. 23, 1925, a son of Charles and Mildred Coulson-Minch, and was married to Phyllis Liby Oct. 11, 1949. He had lived in Decatur for the past 20 years. He served in the U.S. Navy for three years during World War II.
Mr. Minch was a member of the American Legion and a past president of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Surviving are his wife; three children, Duane, Libby Kae and Gregory Minch, all at home; his father, Charles Minch of Decatur; his mother, Mrs. Mildred Disher of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Howard Minch of Decatur, and James Minch of Bryant; a step-sister, Mrs. Wallace (Lela) Mock of Ridgeville; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Coulson of Portland, and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Minch of Decatur. One step-sister is deceassed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church , with the Rev. Fuhrman Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. The body was removed to the Winteregg-Linn funeral home, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. The body will lie in state at the church from 12 noon Sunday until time of the services.
A city police honor guard will be stationed at the casket at the Bethany E. U. B. church from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Sunday. There will be a change of the honor guard each half hour.
Two of the members of the police force will comprise the honor guard. Five members of the department, Chief Grover Odle, Victor Strickler, Dick Mansfield, Don Liechty and Jim Cochran, with deputy sheriff Harold August will be pallbearers.

This Alexander Brandyberry (1833-1895) was the one married to Sarah Jane Everhart. He had quite a few children, and I wonder why no one mentioned them in his obit.
