CLIFFORD DEATH DIES SUNDAY AT HOSPITAL
Clifford Death, Jr. 67 of Bobo, lifelong resident of Adams County, died at 4:37 p.m. Sunday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient four days.
He was born in St. Mary's township, Sept. 20, 1902, a son of Clifford and Lettie May Kirkland Death.
Mr. Death, retired Adams county highway department employe, attended the Bobo Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sisters: Mrs. James (Ada) Everett of Pleasant Mills, Mrs. Eva Yarrick and Mrs. Orpha James, both of Fort Wayne; and three brothers, Dale Death of Delphos, O., Jack & Clinton Death, both of Decatur route 3. Four brothers are deceased.
Funeral rites will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Winteregg-Linn funeral home, with Rev. Larry Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today until time of the services.

BARBARA HABEGGER DIES EARLY SUNDAY
Miss Barbara Habegger, 71, lifelong resident of Adams county, died at 11:05 a.m. Sunday at the Swiss Village nursing care unit, where she had been a patient one year. She had been blind for 50 years and ill for the past 5 years.
She was born in Wabash township, April 12, 1898, a daughter of Jacob and Katherine Nussbaum-Habegger, and was never married.
Miss Habegger was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Church.
Surviving are one brother, Amos Habegger of Berne route 1, and 12 half-brothers and half-sisters. Four brothers and one sister are deceased.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Yager funeral home in Berne, with Rev. Robert Zehr officiating. Burial will be in the Mazelin cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Preferred memorials are to the Swiss Village care unit.

HERMAN SCHUG DIES SUDDENLY TUESDAY
Herman R. Schug, 62, of 856 North Harrison street, Berne, died of a heart attack at 4:15 Tuesday at the Neuenschwander insurance office in that city.
A lifelong resident of the Berne area, he had been employed since 18 years of age at Dunbar Furniture until forced to retire because of ill health last Oct. 1.
He was born in Monroe township March 12, 1908, a son of William and Clara Durr-Schug, and was married to Bessie Tremp Aug. 26, 1933.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Betty) Zurcher of Monroe; three brothers, Carl and John Schug, both of Berne, and Harry Schug of Port Ritchey, Fla.; two sisters, Miss Mildred and Miss Leona Schug, both of Berne and three grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister are deceased.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Yager funeral home with Rev. Laverne Howard officiating. Burial will be in MRE Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Preferred memorials are to the Adams County Heart Fund.

LOCAL LADY'S MOTHER IS TAKEN BY DEATH
Mrs. Myrtle E. Fennig, 86, of Geneva, died Wednesday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for some time.
She was born in New Corydon, Feb. 2, 1884, a daughter of Henry and Sarah Fravel-Fogle. Her husband Ed Fennig, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Fennig was a member of Geneva Methodist church, the Order of Easter Star, and a home demonstration club.
Surviving are two sons, Harrison Fennig of Geneva, and Tony Fennig of Portland; six daughters, Mrs. Crystal Gibson and Mrs. Vera Price of Portland, Mrs. Violet Gould and Mrs. Margaret Bauman of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Mary Binegar of Geneva, and Mrs. Kathleen Burkhart of Decatur; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hardy & Hardy funeral home in Geneva, with Rev. Lester Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn cemetery at Geneva.

Mahlon D. Brown, 73, of 316 South Wayne street, Bluffton, father of two Decatur residents , died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday at the Clinic hospital in Bluffton, following a three-year illness of cancer.
He was born in Wells County Dec. 8, 1896, a son of Charles and Clara Love-Brown and was married to Mildred Beal in 1919.
Mr. Brown, a retired carpenter, was a member of the First Baptist church at Bluffton.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Marvin of Valparaiso, Bob of Marion, Larry of Franklin and Carl of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six daughters, Mrs. Maxine Baumann and Mrs. Richard (Helen) Schnitz, both of Decatur, Mrs. Donald (Bertha Jean) Malson of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Scott (Doris) Alexander of Franklin, Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Higgins of Richards, Tex., and Mrs. Philip (Judith) Hoopengarner of Ossian; one sister, Mrs. Gale Roe of Fort Wayne; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral rites will be conducted at 1:30 Wednesday at the First Baptist church in Bluffton, with Rev. Joe Elliot officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County. Friends may call at the Thoma funeral home in Bluffton after 7 p.m. today and from noon Wednesday at the church until time of services.

Walter G. Reynolds, 68, of Jay City, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Veteran's hospital in Marion, where he had been a patient four years.
Mr. Reynolds, a World War II Veteran, had been employed at Dunbar Furniture and Smith Bros. at Berne.
Born Nov. 9, 1901, he was a son of George and Elizabeth Harshbarger-Reynolds.
Surviving are his wife, the former Leola Bryan Patterson; one step-son, Charles W. Patterson of Berne; three step-daughters, Mrs. Robert (DeLee) Mattax of Ossian, Mrs. Howard (Delores) Patch of Jay City and Mrs. Evan (Helen) Brunner of Rainbow Lake, Geneva; two brothers, Raymond Reynolds of Fort Wayne and Wiley Reynolds of Ft. Recovery, O; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Resh of Celina, O.; and 12 step-grandchildren. One son and four brothers are deceased.

Lester F. Busick, 63, of Decatur, route 3, died suddenly at 7:45 p.m. Monday at his home, six miles north of Decatur.
Born in Root Township, Feb. 3, 1907, he was a son of Edward and Elise Franke-Busick, and was married to Alvina Scheumann June 9, 1934.
Mr. Busick was a retired farmer and was formerly employed by the General Electric Co. in Fort Wayne for 17 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Dale D. Busick of Decatur route 3, and Don D. Busick of Monroeville route 2; one daughter, Mrs. Herbert (LaVerne) Boerger of Decatur route 3; one sister, Mrs. Edwin (Frieda) Herderhorst of Monroeville route 2; two brothers, Alfred and Herbert Busick, both of Decatur route 3; and 12 grandchildren. One son, Carl and one brother are deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Zwick funeral home and 2 p.m. at the St. Peter's Luthan Church, with Rev. Roger Eden officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday until time of the services. Preferred memorials are to the St. Peter's church building fund.

MRS. CARRIE RHYMER DIES AT HOSPITAL
Mrs. Carrie Rhymer, 59, of Monroeville, route 1, died at 3:40 p.m. Monday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient one week.
She was born in Kentucky but had resided in the Monroeville area for 17 years. She was a member of the Hi-Way Holiness Church of God at Riverhaven.
Surviving are her husband, Chester; one son Earl Rhymer of Monroeville; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Roy of Germantown, O., Mrs. Maxine Mohr and Mrs. Pauline Clevenger of Monroeville and Mrs. Judy Aker of Bluffton; two brothers, John Messer of Fairborn, O., and Robert Messer, Jr. of Kentucky; four sisters, Mrs. Stella Gamble, Mrs. Alice Bingham, Mrs. Chelsea Smith and Roxie Cox, all of Kentucky, her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Messer, Sr., of Walker, Ky; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The body was removed to the E. Harper and Son Funeral Home at New Haven. Arrangements have not been completed.

Miss Nellie E. Myers, 82, of ?04 Jefferson St., died Wednesday at the Cooper rest home in this city, where she had been a patient seven months.
She was born in Jefferson township, June 9, 1887, a daugher of Reuben and Cora Galloway-Myers, and was never married.
Miss Myers was a member of the Maple Grove Church of Christ.
Only survivors are the following nieces and nephews: Mrs. Tyler Miller, Decatur, with whom Miss Myers made home; Mrs. Roe (Donna) Lehman of Decatur, route 4; Spec. 6 Jerry Miller in Germany; Mrs. Charles (Peggy) Wilson of San Diego, Cal., Mrs. Patricia Ross of Blue Field, Va., and Robert R. Myers of Fort Wayne. One sister and one brother are deceased.

George Frederick Kuehn, 81, of Rockford, O., father of Mrs. Robert Johnson of Decatur, died Monday night at his home. He had served as sexton of the Riverside Cemetery for 18 years.
Born in Chattanooga, O., Aug. 15, 1888, he was a son of Michael and Mary Galer-Kuehn, and was married to Nettie Eaken April 21, 1919.
Mr. Kuehn, a veteran of World War I, was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the Glen D. Eckhart Post 508 American Legion.
Surviving in addition to his wife are the daughter, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Johnson of Decatur; three brothers, Walter Kuehn of Avilla, and Henry and Paul Kuehn, both of Elkhart; six sisters, Mrs. Della Miller of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Marie Weber of Clamath Falls, Ore., Mrs. Frieda Snyder of Nappanee, Mrs. Almeda Kunkle and Mrs. Anna Thebus of Elkhart, and Hulda Rosenbaum of Indianapolis; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A grandson, Jack Lee, was reared in the Kuehn home.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home at Rockford, with Rev. Charles Haddock offociating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, but military rites by the Amercian Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.

DR. PALMER LIECHTY DIES UNEXPECTEDLY
Dr. Palmer E. Liechty, 49, of 3428 Lona Drive, Fort Wayne, owner of Liechty Optometrists, was dead on arrival at midnight Saturday at the Lutheran Hospital.
Dr. Liechty, veteran of both World War II and the Korean conflict, had resided in Fort Wayne 19 years.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church at Berne, and attended the Gospel Temple in Fort Wayne. He was a past president of the Village elementary school PTA, and president of the East Allen county school board.
A graduate of Northern Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Liechty was a member of the Travelers Protective Association, Amercian Legion post 330, New Haven, the Tuiana Club and Indiana Optometric Association.
Survivng are his wife, Elva; three sons, Jason, sophomore at Indiana University, Jeffrey and Jerry at home; a daughter, Janice, at home; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Yoder of Berne; and two brothers, Dr. Ralph Liechty of Wooster, O., and Dr. Clinton Liechty of Loudonelle, O.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the D.O. McComb Funeral Home, Rev. Paul Edwardson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at MRE Cemetery at Berne. Preferred memorials are to the Allen County Heart Fund.

KATHERINE ANKER DIES UNEXPECTEDLY
Mrs. Katherine S. Anker, 90, well-known Decatur lady, died suddenly of a coronary attack at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday at her home, 214 South First Street. She had not been ill, and death was unexpected.
Born in Vermillion County, Ill., April 2, 1879, she was a daughter of William D. and Paulina Miller-Smith, and had resided in Decatur for many years. She was married April 7, 1900 to Albert M. Anker who preceded her in death in 1947.
Mrs. Anker was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Adams County Historical Society and the Democratic Women's Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Veronica A. Linn of Decatur; a granddaughter, Miss Dianne Linn of Decatur; and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Deege of Danville, Ill. One granddaughter, two sisters, and four brothers are deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Winteregg-Linn funeral home with Rev. Robert Vander Hart officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today until time of the services.

REESE BODLE DIES AT HOME IN FORT WAYNE
Reese D. Bodle, 86, of 1116 Breck Street, Fort Wayne, died Friday morning at his residence. He was a native of Missouri, but resided in Fort Wayne most of his life.
Mr. Bodle retired from General Electric Co. in 1948 after 22 years of service. He was a former member of the Pentecostal church.
Surviving are five sons, Edwin Fox of Saginaw, Mich., Robert Fox of Berne, Clarence Fox of New Haven, and Earl and Roy Bodle of Fort Wayne; six daughters, Mrs. Agnew Drewrey of New Haven, Mrs. Edith Thackett of Thomasville, Mo., Mrs. Amanda Musser, Mrs. Edna Jenson, Mrs. Lula Coley and Mrs. Helen Aumiller, all of Fort Wayne; 31 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at C.M. Sloan & Son funeral home, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.

FUNERAL SATURDAY FOR CRASH VICTIM
Funeral services will be held Saturday for Mrs. Ruth G. Felger, 37, of Van Wert, O., who was killed late Tuesday night in a car-semi truck crash near the intersection of U.S. 30 and state road 101, east of New Haven.
Police say Mrs. Felger, who was east bound on 30, lost control at a snow covered curve and skidded broadside into the path of the oncoming semi rig, driven by Jack Nelson , 47, of Bellefontaine, O.
Mrs. Felger suffered chest and skull injuries and was dead on arrival at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was an employe of the Bylou Publishing Co. in Fort Wayne.
Surviving are her husband Junior J. Felger; two daughters, Cheryl Ann and Kay Lynn, at home; her father, Benjamin R. Davies of Venedocia, O., route 1; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Ross of Pleasant Mills and Mary Ellen Pauff of Lima, O.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Zion Presbyterian church in Van Wert. Friends may call at the Brickner funeral home in Van Wert.

CATHERINE SCHWARTZ DIES HERE SATURDAY
Mrs. Catherine Schwartz, 77, of Berne, route 2, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Cooper rest home in this city. She had been ill since 1959 and a resident of the rest home since 1965.
She was born in Adams County, Jan. 26, 1893, a daughter of Solomon E. and Elizabeth Habegger-Nussbaum, and was married to Noah D. Schwartz Aug. 3, 1914. Her husband preceded her in death in 1944.
Surviving are an adopted son, Palmer L. Schwartz of Pleasant Mills; a foster brother, Edwin C. Amstutz; two sisters, Miss Lydia D. Nussbaum and Mrs. Sarah Schwartz of Berne and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Yager funeral home in Berne, with Rev. Samuel Aschliman officiating. Burial was in the Mazalin cemetery, northwest of Berne.

SERVICES THURSDAY FOR MYRTIS LONG
Funeral services will be held Thursday for Mrs. Myrtis O. Long, 46, who was found dead of natural causes Monday morning at her home, 1127 Marshall Street.
She was born in Nashville, Ark., April 26, 1923, a daughter of Henry and Callie Cornish-Couch, and was married to Grover I. Long, October 8, 1939. Her husband preceded her in death Sept. 12, 1969.
Mrs. Long attended the Nuttman Ave. United Brethren Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Rex (Betty) Huss of Decatur, Mrs. Sam (Carolyn) L??r of Lima, O., and Mrs. Kenneth (Lola) Dill of Grand Prairie, Tex; one son, Don Long of Decatur; her father, Henry Couch of Nashville, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. Pat (Leida) Morrison of Nashville, Ark., Mrs. Rosie Ballard and Mrs. Charles (Lena) McKinnen of Murphysboro, Ark.; two brothers, Clifton Couch of Liberty Center and Clayton Couch of Nashville, Ark.; a half-brother, Walter Westerman of Texarcana, Ark.; and four grandchildren. Four brothers are deceased.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Nuttman Ave. United Brethren Church, the Rev. Sylvester Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the Zwick funeral home after 7 p.m. today. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. Thursday until time of services.
