I have a good bit of information on the Hower family and would be happy to share what I know. I have a Rachel Hower m. Joseph Steele in my files, but I do not know who her parents were.
I also have John F. Sovine and Elizabeth Hower in my files with eight children. Elizabeth was the daughter of Andrew Hower and Margaret Buroker.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for reply, Sally. The more information about the Irene Byron Sanitarium I can get the better. Eventually, maybe I will learn why I cannot find a complete listing of patients there in the 1930 US Census! Or, better yet, find the complete listing!!
Best Regards,
Harold Dozier

I worked at Irene Byron Hospital in the early 1970's, as a teenager. They treated 2 kinds of diseases, TB and then other lung diseases. I know that the buildings are still there, but I think it closed in the 1980's.
>From the obituary of his mother, Martha DYARMAN ANDREWS ANDREWS
JOHNSON/JOHNSTON at her death in Monroe, Adams Co., IN in 1925, it states
that she is survived among others, by her son, Thomas Johnston of
Dunkirk, IN. From my data I have that he was born in 1874, Adams Co., IN
s/o James & Martha Johnson/Johnston; he had an older sister, Amanda
Margaret Johnson/ Johnston who was born and lived in Adams Co., IN all
her life; she married 1st a Dulin and 2nd John McKean.
I have that John Thomas m. Della Werst 10 Feb. 1900 in Adams Co., IN.
Born to this couple while in Adams Co. were:
James O. Johnson/Johnston 29 April 1899?
Unnamed Female Johnson 27 Sep 1901
Unnamed Male Johnson 14 July 1904
Unnamed Male Johnson 27 Mar 1907
Charles T. Johnson 1 Apr 1914
Frank T. Johnson 1 Apr 1914
I do not know if any of these children survived to adulthood. Any
information from cemetery or church records that are available would be
appreciated. As indicated above the surname is spelled either with or
without the "t". I have seen it both ways.
Thank you for your help in this matter. Joey [Sara Jo]

Wow! You knew my Aunt Onie!
She died when I was a little kid, but I do remember her. I think she was living in Willshire.
Anything you could tell me would be great. That side of the family I never got to know very well. I'm especially interested in the Davises, as I said in my original posting, but would be glad to know anything you've got on the Andrews and Scherer families too.
Thanks for writing!

Have worked some on the Andrews family. Worked with Onie (Leona) Davis at the Adams Co. hospital. They lived near Monroe. Can check my database to see what I have, what specific info did you need? No info on the Davis family.
