Greetings everyone;
We are exploring the possibilities of taking a vacation next year in
Bern, Switzerland, and are seeking advice. Does anyone who has made this
trip previously have a tour package, or tour company that they would
recommend? We are not looking for one of the "see as many sites as
possible in the shortest amount of time" packages, instead wanting to
spend most of the time in the Bern area, and get a more detailed tour of
a much smaller area.
Thanks for any comments.

Greetings and hello;
I am looking for copies of plot maps of the towns of Berne and/or
Monroe, Indiana in 1930. Plot maps show the location of every structure
and their address. A map within the date range of 1928 to 1932 will
work. Any assistance in this matter would be great.
Thanks.

Hello,
I need to make a correction regarding a query I placed February 23, 2002. The maiden name of my 3rd great-grandmother was Sarah E. FISHER and not WILLIAMS. The incorrect information had been handed down by a family member. I recently received a certified copy of her death record from the Adams County Dept. of Health. It states that Sarah Elizabeth Plants died April 6, 1903, in Adams County, Indiana. Age at death - 68. Sex - F. Color - W. Widowed. Primary cause of death given was Otitis Media (never heard of anyone dying of a middle ear infection before, though they can be quite painful). Signed by S.K. Churtz, MD. Place of burial or removal: Steele Cemetery, Adams Co., Indiana. Date of Burial: April 8, 1903. Funeral director: S.S. Buchanan. Recorded locally in Book No. H-22B, Page No. 23.
What was really interesting and useful was typewritten on the back of the death certificate, which I hadn't noticed for a long time. "According to the information on this death record, Sarah Elizabeth was born on September 3, 1834. She was the daughter of Lewis and Rachel (WILLIAMS) FISHER. Sarah was born in Ohio, her parents were both born in Virginia (according to the record)."
I heard a brick wall come tumbling down! 'Lo and Behold, I found a Lewis FISHER in the 1840 and 1850 censuses in Adams Co., IN.
1840 Federal Census, Root Twp., Adams Co., IN, page 5
Lewis FISHER: Free white persons, including heads of families - 2 males under 5, 1 male 15 & under 20, 2 males 20 & under 30, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5 & under 10, 1 female 20 & under 30.
1850 Federal Census, St. Marys Twp., Adams Co., IN, page 70, Families numbered in the order of visitation - 897.
Lewis FISHER - age 39, farmer, born in VA
Rachel FISHER - age 33, born in VA
SARAH E. FISHER - age 15, born in OH
William A. FISHER - age 14, born in OH
Thomas FISHER - age 12, born in OH
Mary F. FISHER - age 10, born in IN
Catharine FISHER - age 6, born in IN
Joseph C. FISHER - age 8, born in IN
Delpha FISHER - age 3, born in IN
Martha M. FISHER - age 6/12, born in IN
These appear to be the same Lewis FISHER's.
If you have additional information on this family or are descended from them, I'd love to hear from you!
