A.J. HANEY DIED THIS MORNING
Nephritis caused death; Was Invalid For Seven Years
Albion Joseph Haney, age 57 years, well-known resident of this city, died at his home, 104 North Fourth street, at 9:30 o'clock this morning. Death was due to nephritis, which developed following a stroke of paralysis seven years ago. Mr. Haney was stricken with paralysis on December 8, 1917 and had been an invalid since that time. He gained strength at times and showed considerable improvement, but never regained his health sufficiently to resume his work. His last illness dates from October 7. Mr. Haney remained cheerful during his long period of helplessness.
Mr. Haney was a son of Jesse R. and Catherine F. Haney, and was born in Huntington county, February 7, 1867. He spent his boyhood days in Huntington county. On October 21, 1894, he was married to Nellie Zora Crowl, at Hicksville, Ohio. Several years ago Mr. Haney was engaged in the co-operage business in Ohio. Eight years ago he moved his family here from North Baltimore, Ohio. At the time he was stricken with paralysis, Mr. Haney was employed by the Smith & Bell Lumber company, as buyer and manager of the saw mills.
Mr. Haney was a member of the Methodist church, of the Masonic lodge, and the Order of Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife; four children, Fonce V. Haney, of St. Catherine<sic>, Canada, and Douglas M., Florence P., and Maurice C., all at home; two brothers, William, of Arapahoe, Colorado, and Jacob, of Hastings, Michigan; and one sister, Mrs. Henry Plasterer, of Huntington. One daughter, Mrs. Fred Dennis, died a few months ago. Fonce V. Haney, a son, arrived her<sic> from Canada last Saturday and was at his father's bedside when death came.
Funeral Services will be held from the residence at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning, the Rev. U.S.A. Bridge, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Following the funeral, the remains will be taken overland to Hicksville, Ohio, for burial in the Forest Home cemetery.

I hope this is okay to post here. I just saw an 1918 high school diploma for ELLA WEBER of district #1, Township of Preble, Adams County on Ebay, "1918 Indiana Diploma - Ella Weber Item # 2111488035" I did a search using Preble Indiana and came across it. Unfortunately I have no Webers in my family line, but I remember the family name while growing up by Preble. I'm hoping someone will claim this treasure for their family.
Hi Carrol, I'm going to reply to both your messages, the one to the list &
the one to me a few days ago, here on the list. If you are Carrol Martin
we've corresponded before abt the Imel, Straits, etc. I didn't have parents
for the 3 Boze brothers: Peter, David & James, who all married Strait
daughters of Jacob Strait & Letiticia Bailey. I have different dates for
Peter 's birth: I have May 1820 based on the various census records & Adams
County, Indiana Index to Death Records A-Z 1882-1920.
But what I'm really interested in is your Mary JOHNS. I have a JOHNS family
mystery that involves the KELLY family of Adams Co.,IN. Jessie KELLY b.
c1902 married bef 1917 to Chester JOHNS. They had a son named Cecil. Some
of this Kelly family moved to AR then OK w/ my own Kelly/Scoles family.
Jessie's parents were James Justice Kelly & Ida R. HULL. James was the
brother of my ancestor Katherine Pearl Kelly, they were children of Jonathan
Kelly & Elizabeth Ruth Tharp. Katie Kelly married Isaac Franklin Scoles &
he was the s/o Andrew Wesley Scoles & Hannah Letiticia TEETER. Hannah was
the d/o Daniel P. Teeter & Mary STRAIT. So you see they're all related!

I am looking for information about the Henry and Mary JOHNS Boze family.
Henry and Mary Boze were married June 14, 1813 in Warren County, Ohio. They
eventually immigrated to Darke County, Ohio and raised a family. They
disappear from Darke County sometime between 1860 and 1870.
I am descended from their son, David Lindsay who was born June 14, 1813 in
Jackson, Darke County, Ohio.
I have copies of documentation from Adams County which indicate that David's
older brother, Peter born January 01, 1824 in Ohio...died in Jefferson Twp,
Adams County, Indiana on June 01, 1900 and is buried at Crawford Cemetery in
the same community.
Additional information states that Peter's mother, Mary JOHNS Boze is also
possibly buried in Crawford Cemetery. The name of the cemetery has a
question mark beside it, which doesn't confirm that she is buried there.
The body was prepared by Schindler & Winteregg and that the doctor in
attendance was G. R. Hagerman. I have no proof of this statement...just a
typewritten letter sent by another researcher which is typed on Adams County
Health Department Stationary and states this information. The letter
doesn't give a death date. She was born abt. 1793 in South Carolina. (She
sometimes used the name "Polly" as well.)
I would appreciate any information which would lead to the truth and confirm
or deny this death and burial information.
I also am searching for death information about her husband, Henry born
about 1791...possibly in Germany or Maryland.

I have the Walter Guy Stetler & Daisy Pearl August you mention along with
their 9 children (if you want the rest let me know). Walter (father) Guy
Stetler was born Apr 16, 1894 and died July 27, 1961, son of Frank Stetler
& Sarah E. Rumple (Rumple is my line). The son that you mention, W (alter)
Eugene Stetler born Oct 17, 1918 and died June 4, 1944.
For the other one, William A. (Allen) I have born 1855 and died Oct 11,
1929, also buried in Mt. Tabor Cem. I wonder if he married before Flora...
do you have any children? there's an 1880 census for Willshire, Van wert
Co OH for William (25), wife Cora (21) daughter Sylpharine (1) and sister
Laura (18).
If he was born 1855, could have married second time to Flora. Any more on
them?

I am looking for my husbands father. I don't know even what state to begine with. He hasn't seen him since he was 2 years old, and he is now 33. His father would be about 70-75 years old now. His name is Carlos Van Winkle. If anyone has any info please e-mail me. A friend showed me this page and I'm not sure how to find it again to check for "Re". Thanks for any help.

So, has anyone found the links to all the TINDALL/TYNDALLs of Adams County????
I have James T., who married Daisy MARTZ on 23 July 1899; and probably his brother George, who married Mary MARTZ on 25 December 1898; and then there was Caster B., who married Isabell SACKETT on 18 November 1858.
How do these relate to all those others that have been mentioned recently??

Looks like this William Tindall III must be a sibling to my Otholic Tindall who settled in DeKalb CO IN. They both had a daughter, Rebecca. Otholic's wife was Nacy Chilcott. My Rebecca married Abraham Layton Zimmerman, and the stayed around DeKalb CO IN.
I'd like to learn more about Otholic's siblings and I'd be glad to share his line with anyone interested.

Kathy--
I can't answer your question, but I'm hoping if we chat back and forth for a bit and compare notes we may be able to make a connection. I agree Arkinson and Berry must both be family names. My Arkinson Berry Baughman was the son of William Baughman and Elizabeth Marks who are buried in the municiple cemetary in Decatur, Adams County, Indiana. William is listed in the 1850 census in Lexington, Richland County, Ohio living with his parents and teaching school. All I know about Elizabeth is that she was born 6 November 1834 (don't know where) and that she and William married in Richland County, Ohio 17 February 1853. Their eldest son William Otterbein Baughman was born 8 December 1853. Their second son was Arkinson Berry Baughman born 28 March 1855. I don't know for sure where the boys were born, but I am guessing it was Richland County, Ohio because Arkinson married there on 21 September 1881. Most (maybe all) of Arkinson and his wife Rachel Porter's children were bor!
n in Adams County, Ind. All of this suggests to me that perhaps the two generations (William and Elizabeth and Arkinson and Rachel) moved to Adams county sometime in the early 1880's, perhaps as early as 1881 or early 1882.
Now, my guess is, as you say, that my Arkinson Berry Baughman may well have been the namesake of your Arkenson Berry. Is it possible that Elizabeth Marks Baughman's mother was a Berry--that's one logical possibility. She could even have been a sister of Arkenson Berry. That would seem to fit chronologically. Do you have any info which might support this hypothesis (or refute it)? It's possible, I suppose, that my Ark was named after a family friend rather than a relative, but a relative seems more likely to me. Do you have any connections to Richland County Ohio? Let me know what you think about all of this.

Hi. I am looking for the parents of Arkenson Berry and Nathan Berry. Supposedly they came from Scotland (early 1800's) to Ohio and brought little Arkenson with them. After they were here, little Nathan Berry was born on August 18, 1817. Nathan later moved to Shelby County Missouri and I am descended from Nathan.
Arkenson being obviously a family name, perhaps your Arkinson Berry was named for a family member on his mother's side. I'm trying to find the city or parish in Scotland where the parents came from. Can you help?
Thanks.
