I have Della Mary Steele (1877-1902) wed, 6/14/1899 in Adams Co., In.to James Eady (1871-?) They had son Harold 2/28/1901, and another child in 1902. Della could have died in birth off this child. Della's parents COULD be Samuel S. & Sarah J. (Krick) from Adams Co. birth record of a female on 2/21/1887. This COULD be Della Mary. Ring any bells? Need data on Della's family. Thanks, Dick.

Hello-
I'm looking for the genealogy book titled "Revolutionary Soldiers - Andrews,
Cecil, Archbold, & Ball" by Electa Lochner. I think it was published in the 1950s
or 1960s. The book pertains to the Andrews, Cecil, Archbold, & Ball families
during their migrations from Maryland to Ohio, and finally to Adams County,
Indiana.
Thanks, Chris Andrews

Kathryn, I suggest you write directly to Melissa who started this threaded message. She sent a note on how she handled the Bible, I no longer have that message. She disposed of the Bible in the year 2000...........Pat Lenhart
>From the Decatur Daily Democrat of Friday, December 7, 1894:
A young man down in Union Twp., says the Bellefontaine Examiner, bought a plug of tobacco some time ago with a mouse nicely pressed into one end of it, and instead of taking it back to the dealer and demanding the return of his money, he kept it for the benefit of his tobacco - begging friends, many of them, it is said, were reformed of the tobacco habit after trying a chew off the plug and then afterwards being shown the little dead mouse."

Message Board Post:
My gg-grandfathers name was Abraham Brown, b. abt 1846, and was in Adams County. I wonder if this could be your Abrahams father? Abraham was married to Rebecca Runyon, May 20, 1875 in Adams Co, but it's possible that Rebecca may of been a second marriage for him. Unfortunately, i don't have any other information on him, other than he must of died before 1880, because Rebecca is remarried in 1880 to a Owen Glancy(i think), and then again in 1885 to a Utinger. Could you please let me know if you find anything on your Abraham that may link him to mine?
Thank you,
Kelly Runyon-Bragg

I'm not researching this name, but thought I have seen it here on the list
in the past. If so, right now, at least today, there's a postcard on ebay
with a lady's picture and a message and signature on the back from a Miss
Winifred Ringwald, postmarked Jan.23, 1914 in Ft. Wayne and sent to Decatur.
This link for this is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1077747848 If you do
miss the sale and are interested in the picture, email me directly as I did
save the picture just in case someone wants it.
I thought this may be of interest to someone. In case people don't realize
it, you can do searches on Ebay by name of town, county, etc. I'm often
checking Decatur and Adams County to see if there's anything of interest.
