Surname: Hakes, Hower, Schnepp
-------------------------
Irene Hakes was the adoptive daughter of Harrison David Hakes and his first
wife Josephine. Josephine died in 1921 and he married a second time to
Dorothy Schnepp on 3 June 1922. Harrison had three children from his second
marriage.
Irene was with him when he married Dorothy. What happened to
Irene? Who did she marry and when did she die?
There is a possibility that Irene was related to the Hakes family.

Surname: DELONG, DREW, GILLESPIE, MILES, SAXON, TOWNSEND
-------------------------
Hi Martha,
In my FTM database I have an Ira L. Townsend born abt. 1806 who married
a Katherine Delong. Ira was the son of Samuel Townsend and Sarah Longwell.
Samuel was born in Fredrickstown, Steuben County, NY and died in Rush,
Jo Davis County, IL. He was the son of Eber Townsend and Elizabeth Drew
and the brother of my ancestor, Gilbert Townsend. Gilbert Townsend and
his wife, Mary (Polly)Saxon went to Blackford County ca. 1838. Samuel and
some members of his family went to Illinois. But some of Samuel's family
could have also came to Indiana.
There is also a couple of Gillespie/Miles/Townsend connections:
Lucinda Gillespie married Alfred Miles in ca. 1845 in Grant County. One
of their children married into the Townsend family
Blanche Gillespie married Jay Livingston Townsend May 7, 1903, probably
in Blackford or Grant County.
I don't know if you can connect to any of these people. Good luck in your
search.

Surname: Mann, Kiess
-------------------------
Adams County: Frank Charles Mann, born 1887 in Adams County, died 1962
in Rochester, Minnesota, youngest son of Joseph E. Mann and Louisa Kiess,
was my grandfather. He had five sisters: Ethel, Lulu, Netty, Verna and
Izora; and three brothers: John, Harlow (or Harlo?) and Robert. My father
remembered that Izora died as a child, but that doesn't seem correct given
Margie Pearce's posting. Perhaps one of the other sisters died as a child?
My father also remembered that Louisa Kiess came from Wurtenberg, Germany
-- which is inconsistent with Margie's posting. Any more information about
Joseph E. Mann and his ancestors or relations?
