Linda,
I doubt this will help much, but I have Dick Neptune m. Theresa Adel
Spangler (1871-1916) in 1895. Have lots on the Spanglers, but nothing else
on Neptune.

I haven't posted for a while, so here goes......my futile search for my Indiana ancestors.
They were:
Allen D. Moore - born ca 1852 in Kentucky - died in Adams County on
June 4, 1915.
His wife: Savannah (Smith) Moore - born ca 1852 in unknown Indiana
County (probably either in Randolph, Rush or Fayette County). Married
Allen Moore in Howard County, Indiana on 13 January, 1881. I have
no information on where or when Savannah died, but believe it to have
been either Howard or Adams County, after 1892 and probably before
1900.
Jane (Mullis) Smith - Mother of Savannah. Born in North Carolina, ca
1830. Married Thomas Smith in Fayette County, Indiana on 06 April,
1848. Thomas Smith probably died in Howard County before 1880.
Nancy Mullis - mother of Jane, grandmother of Savannah. Born in
unknown Tennessee County ca 1810. This lady is my brick wall since
I have no records at all showing who her husband was and I do not
know her birth name.
Edith (Moore) Fisher - daughter of Allen and Savannah Moore. Born
in Howard County in May, 1890. Married Clifton L. Fisher in Adams
County (Decatur) in May, 1911. Lived in Wells County in 1913 when
her son was born and probably moved to Lawrence County, Illinois
shortly after that. Clifton Fisher was killed in an oil field accident in
1914. It is believed that Edith returned to Wells County and was
living in Bluffton when her father died in 1915. I believe she never
remarried, and she died sometime before 1951.....probably in the
Adams-Wells-Jay County area.
Alice Moore - daughter of Allen and Savannah Moore. Born in
Howard County in April, 1882. Was still living in 1915 when her
father died. I have no other information on her.
Walter D. Moore - son of Allen and Savannah Moore. Born in
Howard County, Indiana ca 1886. Lived in Adams County, but I
don't know what years. May have been married in that area prior
to 1921. He died in Iowa in 1963.
I have no information that indicates that Jane (Mullis) Smith and her mother, Nancy Mullis, were ever in
Adams County. The last record I have of them is the 1880 Howard County census. However, I've been
unable to find a death record for either one of them in that county, and knowing that the Moore's moved
to Adams County and that these folks stayed pretty close to each other, there's a chance that they also
moved to Adams County.
Any information on these people would earn my undying gratitude. Julie
Justine,
Some of my family also came from Root Twp. I am particularly interested in
Elizabeth Spangler and Isaac Zimmerman. Is this Elizabeth B. Spangler who
married Isaac Culler? I have three other Elizabeth Spanglers in my files
(and one Eliza).
As for Zimmerman, I am trying to find the children of Andrew Zimmerman and
Rachel Roop/Rupe. Could Isaac be one of them? This Zimmerman family came
from Huntingdon Co, PA.

My g grandfather Daniel Railing (b. Nov 10, 1874 d. 1961 Ora, IN) was

I am new to this list, so hope I am doing this correctly. If not, please let
me know. I am researching the name Reed (by any spelling). Fact of the
matter is, I am building a Reed (by any spelling) database where anyone
researching Reeds can send in for a look-up of their "brick wall". I have
53,764 Reeds in the Database at this time, but that is not enough to do an
effective look-up. So, if any of you Reed researchers are out there and
would like to submit your Reed material to this Reed Database, please feel
welcome. Send to Nelllogue(a)texoma.net (note the 3 'l's in Nelll)
Thanks in advance?

Hi Everyone,
We've had some new members join the list in the past few weeks. How about
another round to let everyone know what surnames or other information you're
looking for. Any interesting stories in your research?
I've been looking for many years for the path my g-g-grandfather John
Singleton took to get from Pennsylvania to Adams Co. I knew that he was in
York Co. PA in the 1860 census, and discovered a couple of years ago that he
was last in that county in 1864 according to the tax records there. He
appeared in Adams Co. on the 1877 tax records and 1880 census, but I could
never located him in between. I had even started going through the 1870 Ohio
census, county by county, in the hopes of finding him in that year.
As it turns out, an index to the 1870 Ohio census has just come out and sure
enough I found him...in Union Co., northwest of Columbus, probably about the
last place I would have checked. Sometimes things just fall into place.
What's up with you?
