CORONER'S INQUEST
State of Indiana, Crawford County-Be it remembered that on the 19th day of
December 1902, information was given to me that the dead body of Charles T.
Belcher had been found near Taaswell, Indiana, and death was supposed to be
from violence. Whereupon I proceeded to inquire upon view of the body how
and in what manner he came to his death. The witnesses were sworn and their
testimony reduced to writing and signed by them respectively and after
viewing the body heard the evidence and made all inquiry deemed necessary.
I rendered the following verdict: that the said Charles T. Belcher came to
his death from suicide caused by his own hand with a shotgun. I examined
the body, found no valuables thereon. He was light complexion, weight about
160 pounds. Age 20 years old.
Given under my hand and seal this December 19th, 1902.
S. H. Miller, Coroner
