During the rain storm that passed over the northern part of Brown County
Friday afternoon, J. S. Cunningham was killed instantly by the lightning.
He was engaged in hauling logs to a saw mill at Fruitdale, a station on the
Indianapolis Southern, and was astride one of the horses when the bolt of
lightning struck him, and he fell from the horse a corpse.
