Columbus (IN) Herald, October 5, 1897, p. 3.
The matter of the admission of Elizabeth Woehrman into the Reformatory at
Plainfield was considered by the court and the commitment ordered,
Bartholomew County to pay half the cost of her maintenance until she shall
have become of age or shall be lawfully discharged, she having no estate.
She is 14 years of age, her mother dying when she was but ten.
Arrangements were made to take her to Plainfield this evening, but the
father asked the court to without the commitment a few days with the hope of
obtaining a private home for the girl.
