BROWN COUNTY SHERIFF FACES BOOZE CHARGES
Sam Parks, Brown County sheriff, was arrested Tuesday at Nashville on a
charge of drunk and driving while intoxicated filed in a justice of the
peace court at that place. The arrest was made by Joshua Bond of Helmsburg,
coroner of Brown County, the only person under the law who has the authority
to arrest a sheriff. The charge against Parks was filed by H. H. Evans, a
Newcastle attorney who, with his wife and some friends, are in Nashville
attending the fox hunt. Evans is an officer of the fox hunters association
which is staging the meeting at Nashville. Parks provided $500 bonds on
each charge and was released. His hearing will be tomorrow.
