The fiftieth anniversary of the marriage of Robert Coon and wife was
celebrated at the home of that aged couple in Columbus. Clayborne Morris,
the father of Mrs. Coon, was a soldier in the Revolutionary war and was in
the Battle of Yorktown when Cornwallis surrendered to Washington. He was a
brother of Lewis Morris, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and
also of Robert Morris, the famous financier of the eighteenth century. Mr.
Coon claims to have built and launched 163 flat boats on the Ohio River.
