A 17-year-old boy named W. E. Bates, Jr., has been discovered at Columbus,
Ind., who, it is said, wields a cornet in a manner that gives promise of
future fame as a soloist. Even now, musicians claim he is close to Levy,
Arbuckle and Emerson in the matter of execution.
