A GOOD MOTHER GONE
Malinda Brown, Age 76, Died at Home of Her Daughter Here January 8
Again the grim reaper has visited Nashville, and today the remains of a
grand old mother and a Christian lady rest in the silent city. Malinda J.
Brown died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Mobley, in Nashville
last Thursday evening. She was 76 years of age. Her death was the result
of paralysis, and for the past few weeks she had been very low.
She is survived by eight children: Mrs. Dollie Clark of New Bellsville,
Mrs. Plessie Hamblen of Helmsburg, Mrs. Jacob Shipley of Alexandria, Mrs. W.
M. Marshal of Mt. Liberty, Mrs. James Mobley and Mrs. William Mobley of
Nashville, Jesse and William Brown of Columbus and Henry Brown of Trafalgar.
She is also survived by three brothers-Charles and Jeems Stephens of
Trafalgar and William Stephens of Edinburg.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Methodist Church and, although unable to
taken an active part in church work for the past few years, she was faithful
to her vows.
Funeral services were conducted at the Mobley home last Saturday morning at
ten o'clock. Rev. John Ragel of the Nashville M. E. Church delivered an
impressive and beautiful tribute to the memory of the departed after which
the remains were conveyed to Greenlawn Cemetery for interment.
