CORONER'S INQUEST
State of Indiana, Crawford County
Be it remembered that on the 5th day of February 1817 (sic), information was
given me, W. J. Trusty, coroner of Crawford County, that Jane Ashcraft had
suddenly come to her death, whereupon I proceeded to inquire into how and in
what manner she came to her death. The witnesses were sworn and their
testimony reduced to writing and signed by them respectively.
After viewing the body, hearing the evidence and making all inquiry deemed
necessary, I rendered the following verdict: That the said Jane Ashcraft
came to her death from an unknown cause; that at the time of her death she
was 82 years of age and an inmate of the county poor farm.
All papers pertaining to said inquest are on file at the clerk's office at
English, Indiana. Given under my hand and seal this 6th day of February
1917.
W. J. Trusty
Coroner of Crawford County
