FIRST EDITOR EVER HEARD OF HAVING $925
John Wallace, a linotype operator, found in the Republic office at Corydon,
Indiana, $825 in cash that had been hidden there by Ben F. Self, the former
editor, who died about two months ago. The building, used as a newspaper
office, was formerly occupied by a bank and the money was hidden in an old
vault. Since the editor's death, other small amounts have been found, the
total aggregation $1,000.
